I'm going to be putting a Nightforce on my new Tikka T3X Lite. I've got it narrowed down to a NXS 5.5-22x50 F2 or a NX8 4-32x50 F2. Just wanted to see if anyone had thoughts one way or another, especially if you've had both. Money isn't really an issue but I also don't want to spend the extra money on the NX8 unless it's truly worth it.

I have both. For hunting, my fav is the NXS 5.5-22x50 MOAR not the T
…and definitely F2

I have both and both are great. The NX8 would be my pick due to weight and powers range. Definitely F2 and I have the MOAR retinal and love it. The NX8 has graduations for 16 and 32 power which is awesome.

I have both. Started with the NXS 5.5-22 on my 6.5prc. Got the NX8 in 4-32 for my 300wsm. Now I want to upgrade the other to the NX8. Once you have 32 power zoom you can’t go back. The illuminated reticle is nice in low light also. Like mentioned the 16 and 32 graduations are nice too. NX8 is a few ounces lighter also.

My favorite hunting scope is Nx8 4-32 SFP with CF2D reticle. See no reason for the NXS or the NX8 2.5-20 which is same weight as the 4-32.
For reference I have several Leupold VX6’s, a Mark V 7-35, and an NCO 4-20.

I can’t believe all the SFP suggestions! I had had both scopes and the NX8 is better for me. Glass is better. But eye box relief is not and parallax can be kinda touchy. I purchased a F2 version to give it a try. I was shooting on 22X in some
Wind and was spotting hits and wanting to hold off more. This is where I like the F1 better. No matter the zoom, reticle are good. Just don’t look behind an ATACR 4-20. Or you’ll want one of those instead.

I can’t stand F1 on powers less than 8 powers. I can hardly see the retinal at all. If you had a lighted retinal it wouldn’t matter much on low powers at ranges sub 200-300 yards but I just can’t get behind F1 scopes for hunting.

Cannot go wrong with the NXS with MOAR reticle
