Supposedly some woman in Wichita Kansas was fishing and found this giant dead head in the water. Anyone else see it?
-
With a rack like that, it could probably drown just from trying to get a drink.
-
Otherworldly. Way too much calcium in the water there, apparently... :o
-
Looks like a dino skeleton!
-
Looks pretty dry for having been fished off the bottom of a lake :dunno:
-
GMO!

Anyone say it was fished from the bottom, they said found.

Two thoughts, I wonder if it should be dated? Could it have been preserved somehow and it's really old? Or, maybe it came from a high fenced herd and somehow ended up in the river?

My immediate thoughts was high fence. Maybe they were fishing a pond in a high fence area :chuckle: who knows🤷🏻♂️

High fence…. Wasn’t big enough so they tossed it in the river…
-
Poached from high fence area somewhere else then thrown in water and "found" a year or two later for attention. :dunno:
-
I bet that was a high fence deer that got poached and someone ditched the evidence in the water.

Why poach a high fence deer if you're not planning to keep the antlers?
I'm choosing to believe it's on the up and up until shown otherwise. Cool deer, even cooler find. I swear Ive found the coolest stuff on the ground wandering ricer banks and stream beds.
-
If you owned a high fence ranch, wouldn’t you know if this buck was on your land?…I would! :twocents:

Prob why it's in the creek, maybe it was poached and the azz hats realized they could never hide it? :dunno:

Still haven't heard anything else about it. You would think it would be getting more attention. Probably not even a true story of finding it in the lake.

Because they realized how stupid it was to think you could get away with it so you ditch it. The smart thing to do would be get rid of the evidence. Do you recall the story of a buck just like this in recent years that was poached and the dummy showed it off?

I recall a somewhat similar story of a huge bull elk.
It ended up being high fence; they ended up posting pics of it eating Purina elk chow out of a trough and clearly showing the ear tag.
Point being, any monster high fence buck would have plenty of pics.
Tough thing to steal and show off.
I have no idea if this is high fence. But it is a whopper.

Same person sent me this pic saying it's from Kansas with only the score for them posted. 220"

My point was, wouldn’t the land owner be speaking up, once they saw the pic, that this buck was on his ranch and someone poached it? :dunno:

Probably. It’s a pretty big internet. Who knows the real story.

This is the high buck that was poached I’m thinking of.

Yeah I can't find this deer anywhere. My brother pulled it off of Facebook. Who knows what the real story is but it's awfully similar to the one that guy poached on the high fence ranch.
-
Pretty tough to know for sure..alot of bucks die of old age in Kansas
Always fun to dream alil

Man those are already white. Like the deer never lost an antler.
Almost like that deer had been growing those it's whole life.
It's crazy ,I think. :dunno:

This place never disappoints  why can’t it just be that someone found it? There are more legal reasons a deer can die and end up in a river than there are illegal ones. The majority here are talking about how it was poached without any evidence. Until I see some I’m going to think that it either died of old age or a hunter didn’t find it after hitting it bad with a bow. White antlers are not an indicator of a high fence animal. And a soak in a river and sun can turn them white faster than a high fence can anywhere.

The best evidence we have IS the type of antlers very commonly found on high fence hunts. Which is why it’s most likely this isn’t a natural deer. Maybe someone found it and maybe it escaped from a high fence and wasn’t poached. Who knows. Find that in Washington and it would be a lot more interesting.

This type of antler is common throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri.
Just saying

So now a pic of a white horn and your opinion are evidence? 😂 ok if you say so.
The theory that it was poached and the thrown in the water is absurd! Now if you found a body with no head then I might be inclined to believe you but one that were to poach that set of horns ain’t leaving them behind smh
-
I'm with M_ray, I believe they found it and the story is true. I have some nice antlers from Washington that I have never shared. Don't want to have to avoid telling people where I get them and ruining a good area. There are lots of monster bucks that only one person has seen. It doesn't have to be a high fence animal to be huge.
-
I spent a month hunting west Kansas this year and can attest there is a very good chance this could be free range and legit
-
One of the biggest Muleys I saw photos of this last year was out of Kansas. I really dont like that every huge buck has to be considered high fenced these days. I mean was the hole in the horn buck high fenced. THat thing was nuts
-
I would hazard to say there have been trophy bucks even in this state that died of old age having never been seen by anyone.
-
What a giant

One of my coworkers who just retired, in 2010, shot a 232 double dropper Non-Typical that is one of the coolest Mule deer I have ever seen.
She shot it on her family’s 200 acre ranch in Kansas.
She has a three mule deer over 200” shooting from a 10x10’ whitetail stand, Fully heated with TV and all the modern conveniences. She can hardly walk.
-
Good for her! That’s awesome!
-
That is a monster
