Title: Flying to Alaska with guns
Post by: HillHound on May 11, 2023, 03:03:39 AM
If I am flying to Alaska does my rifle and/or handgun need to be registered to me? Nothing nefarious just guns I’ve had for a long time before all these new transfer rules. I can’t seem to find anything that says They have to, but I would much rather bring one that is if it’s going to cause problems.

TSA doesn’t care as long as they are unloaded and in a locked case per the rules

No. What Lewy says, TSA does not care about that. I fly to Alaska every year with 4 to 5 defense shotguns that are not in my name.

They don't check for registration, it's a pretty easy process to check a firearm.

 :yeah:

To all the above, if it is in your baggage, and has your name on the baggage, it belongs to you. No paperwork needed have done it many times going to AK.
