What did everyone think of the new system this year? It seems like everything when smoothly for everyone I spoke to afterwards tonight. I think everyone I know that tried to get a permit was successful, so did they sell more permits this year or did a bunch of people bow out on buying them? The last several years their system repeatedly crashed, but only allowing one spot per login seemed to help against the people who were logged in on 7 devices with 28 different browsers open trying to get a permit. :chuckle:

It never gave me the option to buy. It put me in a line and sale started page would automatically refresh. Then it refreshed and said warning sold out. Others who were put on list after me got theirs. Contacted the company and got a “big middle finger”. Sat on the site for an hour and a half. Then after it said sold out kept refreshing till 830 and tried for new permits that came available to have the same thing happen. So 3.5 hours on the site got me no where. Oh well. I always come up with other thoughts for the season.

Out of three of us, we all struck out on the drive in permit, and only myself got the walk in one.
That messes up the family plans for fall.

They went quicker than ever.

That is so weird. Two of my coworkers, my cousin, another friend and myself all got them. We all got in within a minute or two of them starting to sell permits at 7:01, so they weren't sold out immediately. Did you guys get into the lobby between 6:45 and 7 PM to get assigned a place in line? I know if you tried to login at 7 PM or later you werent even put in the lobby and assigned a random spot as the sellout was already pending.

This was the same system as last year. Not sure what you mean by only allowing one spot per login? People can/were still logged into multiple devices.

If you did that then you automatically got bounced because it would refresh your IP or at least that is what their person told me earlier today. If you read the instructions, it said once you were in the lobby and in line, do not refresh or reload the page. She also said they were only allowing one device per login and if you attempted several logins from browsers or devices, the system would know and basically put you at the back of the line.

Straight from administration. Dumb way of doing things. Guess its just a lottery.

Sorry you didn't get one Duckmen1. This was the same way Idaho sold non-resident tags this year and I felt your pain then for sure. I don't like it, but not sure how else to do it fairly without the guys trying to cheat the system by logging in on several devices. The way the gal explained it to me earlier was basically your account has one login and no matter how many browsers or devices you have logged in, you only get one spot in line. It sounds like we might have all just lucked out as none of us had any clue others weren't having a similarly smooth experience. I do know it seemed better than in years past where their server crashed repeatedly and permits were being sold hours after their site stated they were all sold out. :twocents:

Its all good. I had many reasons for trying for the pass this season. But I will make some changes to my plans and come up with different game plans elsewhere. This state keeps you on your toes and constantly changing your plans more and more every year with things getting harder to access. I am good at adapting and such though. Just happy to now have a more clear understanding of how they sell their permits. I haven't relied on access permits all these years anyhow. Just thought it would be a nice change. Happy for those that were successful.

Same thing for me.

Also got a permit within a minute. I was very surprised after using the same system for Idaho non resident and got the shaft. Hoping to get my wife her first big game animal this year with it.

Oh snap! You mean I missed it again???

We were all logged in as soon as it allowed, which I think was about 15 minutes before 1900.
