I am doing my first archery elk hunt this fall. I live in Ellensburg, I'm a CWU student. I have been having a hard time finding a range in the area. Anyone know anything? Or maybe someone could let me use their home range?
Thanks.

Hey, welcome to the forum.
I can't help you with an archery range over there, but I hope someone can.
I have a couple kids that graduated from CWU, last ones as recently as last year.
Be careful - they both found good spouses over there. :-)

Buy a portable target, head out durr road or towards lions rock and shoot.

Cascade sportsman club has a range. Have to be a member. $80 a year I think. Has long gun, pistol, shotgun and archery ranges. Look them up and go to one of the orientations. I think two sats a month they do it.

Hayden,
I heard recently that the training center opened an archery range for public use. You would need to make sure you have everything required to get you access on base. PM if you have any additional questions.

Not a range but a sportsmen organization with a bunch of good folks. They also have a FB page

When I was at CWU a few years ago there was an archery club and we would shoot at the fair grounds. Might be worth asking around and seeing if anyone carried the torch. I have an archery target I will take out to some of the public land around or I also have a membership at cascade field and stream, I’ll take my rifle and bow up and get a little practice with both.

I know this thread is a little older now, but the best two places in ellensburg to shoot would be either the cascade field and stream club in thorp. As previously stated you do have to be a member but if you shoot rifles too it is well worth it. The other place would be Red's Fly Shop in the canyon. They have a "flat range" (It actually goes up a hill but you shoot from the same place) and a walk through 3d course.
