Title: Area 11 early opener
Post by: trophyhunt on June 02, 2023, 04:20:39 PM: Never thought I’d have a day like today in area 11 salmon fishing, epic! 3 guys with 3 limits of kings and silvers! Had our kings by 8:30, silvers by 10:30, let many fish go that were too small or were native. Couple really nice natives hurt to let go! Gonna rest up and do it again tomorrow! Anyone else have any luck?

Its gonna be a zoo! But fortunately my cousin has year round moorage at desmoines marina, just a short boat ride. Tomorrow will be interesting! But not a chance we could duplicate today.

I did get to practice my driving skills by going through probably 10,000 tribal pots.

There wasn't much of an evening bite yesterday, but I got my fish. I left the clay banks area around 6pm so the bite could have turned on after I left.

Yeah, our quota this year is around 1400 compared to 540 last year, I suspect this will be the last weekend.

Yep, it has definitely slowed down. Managed one king and two silvers between two of us yesterday. Had another king hooked up but lost him.

Post by: Crunchy on June 09, 2023, 01:36:10 PM: I fished yesterday and it was slow. I was 3/4. I released a solid 13lb native, lost a toad at the net, and released two barely legal hatchery kings. The bite only lasted about 30 minutes if that.

Might have to actually make drive to 11 tomorrow morning
