Title: Looking for some volunteers..
Post by: STIKNSTRINGBOW on June 15, 2023, 08:20:22 PM: We are a couple of old guys hunting state land in unit 673.
We need some help for archery season.
.
I know the area fairly well, but I just cannot walk like I used to.
.
Willing to share information for able bodies in camp.
.
No guarantee, other than a good place to store your gear, and not just drive around looking for a place to hunt, or camp.
.
Honest opportunity to harvest, depending upon effort..
But, it's up to you.
.
Just want more people in camp than 3 old....
.
Anybody interested in hunting near Naselle, and don't have a spot to camp?

Pretty much all the old vices (booze, girl mags, cigs, cigars) were gone and replaced by woodworker magazines or the like, talk was mostly old person ailments and last Doc visits.

I hunted with a buddy a few years ago down that way during muzzy and plan to be back in the general area for some of the season. If all else fails, I can shoot you my number so if you knock one down and need help or just need something in general I can come give you a hand.

Thanks Mike. Your help cutting up and packing out that elk saved a lot of wear and tear on my body!

Post by: Daman9091233 on June 20, 2023, 08:35:37 PM: Elk is the only one I have not gone for yet besides raffle hunts. I always get the get outdoors package and have the tag just have never tried for it. I'd be willing to come for a 3 day weekend and exchange a able body for knowledge.

I take it you've been getting a good amount of activity from your cameras on that ridge you dropped off of.

If you can't find anyone I would be interested in it next year. Good luck finding a partner and with the hunting season.

Actually, between the 2 cameras...
I am adding a third here in a couple weeks...
.
My batteries have been dead, so nothing lately...
But, yeah..
I plan on dumping a cow.
Unless a bull shows up!

Archery season is Any deer, and 3pt+, or antlerless..
.
And I get 2 weeks..
Time off already approved.
.
But, I'm geoduck digging and crabbing first week of July, so the cameras will have to wait...

When you get an elk down let us know and we will help pack even if we are packing out an elk. I’ll have my son and cousin and some strong backs to give a hand.

Great to meet you guys.

We had a great week with my opening day 4x5 bull that I called within 15 yards and only went 20 yards. Hard pack out but well worth it. My so was able to harvest a cow at last light 6 days later!
