Not the picture I wanted to get with the first fawn of 2023. :bash: :bash: :bash:

Bait, motion detector, night vision. It can help keep the predator population in check.

Bummer...I had a better "first fawns of the year" experience a few weekends back.

First here

Also had another fawn encounter a few weekends ago. Blacktail this time. Just need to head to the NE corner for whitetail to hit the fawn hat trick this year lol

Found one a few weeks back.

Seeing lots of fawns up at my cabin. Few weekends ago when we were leaving there was one that couldn't have been more than a few weeks old if that along the road. It ran for a few seconds then just stopped and laid down in the grass to try and hide. Cute little buggers. Next trip up about 100 yards farther down the road we saw a doe with a small fawn up feeding, likely the same pair. Pretty cool

I'm seeing good numbers of elk calves this year on my cams. even with high populations of wolves and bear in the area.
