Title: Boat seats
Post by: 92xj on July 20, 2023, 11:44:29 AM
Does anyone know a custom bench seat maker or know where I can find either one 58" boat bench seat, or a 36" and a 22" to put side by side.  I would have thought google would easily find me tons of options, but I can't find a single option.
About the only thing I can do with what I have found is buy 3 individual seats to place side by side.  But, I do not want to do that option.  While driving I normally sit right where two individual seats would meet up, which would be crack on crack.  I don't want my crack on a crack.  Anything out there?

I would find some one around you that does fiberglass work. We have lots up here in Skagit County. DYI glass work isn't that hard, but I'm surprised you can't find some one with a mould that could pop out a custom bench for you.

I get my supplies from these guys.

I already have the storage box part, I just want to unscrew my old worn out seats and attach new to the top of the box.

So it sounds like you need an upholstery shop. Try Buds in Pasco.

Unfortunately, I need the frames and hinges replaced as well.  Year of stepping the backs of the seats while folded down has destroyed the backs. so much so, they they broke and I removed them as you can see in the picture.  At this point, my only option is to replace the entire seat, frame padding and all.  There seem to be tons of replacement seats that I can easily bolt to the lid of the storage box, like the bench seat is attached currently, but there does not seem to be a lot of bench options, only single seats.

At this moment, I am almost ready to hit the buy button on a fancy bass boat seat combo that I should easily be able to bolt to my bench.  Will be comfy, but maybe a little too much bling for the ducks

Knots and bolt a 2x12 from side to side put some padding on it like some old neopreim water material.  Make it removable if you like.

Old crappy bench with broken back gone, new seats in.   This will work great.   Also, hopefully more flooring shows up tomorrow to finish up the boat refresher.
The seats are not mounted in that picture yet.  Don’t you worry, my ocd will have them all even…
