Was told by a local FFL that the state is implementing the new background check/10 day minimum hold in phases as we speak. They are testing and working on the stores that are in phase 1 right now. His store is in phase 2, so it won't be long until they have to implement that, along with the additional $18 fee.
And, to top it off. One of the places that I have ordered ammo from online has now stopped shipping all ammo to Washington State due to new legislation. I wonder how long until they all follow along.

So the law is interfering with interstate commerce. Interesting.....

It was GrabAGun. Here is what they sent me when I asked.
We hope this letter finds you well. We are writing to inform you about a recent change in our shipping policy regarding orders to Washington State. As a responsible firearms company, we believe in keeping our customers informed about any updates that may affect their purchasing experience.
Due to the proposed legislation introduced in Washington State, which aims to regulate the sale, manufacturing, distribution, importing, and marketing of firearms and related products, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue shipping to Washington State at this time. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand that it may cause some inconvenience to our loyal customers in the state.
The proposed legislation places significant responsibilities and obligations on firearm industry members, and compliance with these requirements poses challenges for us as an out-of-state company. We have carefully evaluated the potential impact and complexities of this legislation and determined that it is currently not feasible or viable for us to continue shipping to Washington State while ensuring full compliance.
Please note that this decision is specific to shipping firearms and related products to Washington State. We remain committed to serving customers in other states and will continue to provide our wide range of products, including firearms, ammunition, and accessories, to customers outside of Washington.
We understand that this news may be disappointing, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. However, we prioritize compliance with applicable laws and regulations to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our customers. We encourage you to explore alternative options for purchasing firearms and related products within the state of Washington.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer service team. We are here to assist you and provide any necessary clarification.
Thank you for your understanding, continued support, and for being a valued customer of GrabAGun.com. We appreciate your loyalty and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Yeah, I have a rifle inbound from Midway right now. I hope most companies don't stop shipping to this state, but I have a feeling more will join in. I know that one gun shop that I did a private sale transfer at recently said they were closing shop sometime this month and moving to Post Falls because of the liability placed on them by the new legislation. I guess if you can't outlaw guns, you just make them impossible to buy.

I know some items on the shelf are priced ridiculous. Example, a large storefront dealer in the area has ammo on the shelf that is priced 71% over my dealer cost. I imagine they get a better price than I do. However, the local shops still need your business as much as possible to remain open.

They may have ordered it at a higher price as well.

Very unlikely since they order ammo by the pallet and I'm just a guy in the garage.
