This was my daughter's last Grant County Fair. Showing Lambs her whole career, she wanted to show a steer before her showing opportunities wound down to the end. Last fall, we brought home a steer from our families herd, and her steer project was underway. She showed beef prospect and FFA Novice at Grant County Fair. There were only 3 prospect beef, and my daughter and steer placed 3rd. They showed really well, though. All the time spent walking and grooming her steer was appearing to be time well spent. The next day was FFA Novice Fit & Show. My daughter showed her steer very well, and won Grand Champion! On to the Round Robin she would go! Round Robin Champions would be named at the awards ceremony on Saturday. At the awards ceremony, she was awarded a beautiful Fit & Show Grand Champion buckle. When Round Robin winners were announced, her name was called again! She won her class in the Round Robin. What a wonderful week at the fair. One more fair to go.

Awesome for your daughter!

Congratulations to her, that’s not an easy task.👍
What’s the breed of the steer?
-
That is awesome! Congratulations to her indeed!

This steer's Father is a registered Charolais bull, his mother is a Angus X. The Steer "Odie" has been a great animal. He has been very mild tempered, and a really fun project.

Good luck to your daughter on the last show. Is this like 4-H where they then auction off the steer?

Well, she's done it before with sheep. It'll be a tough final episode for her, but it's a good growing lesson for a kid. You must be a good dad.

Congrats to your daughter! It's so nice to see all the hard work pay off isn't it? I spent lots of years doing 4H horses and pigs at the grant county fair, but never won a grand champion (reserve champ one year :) ) She can be proud of a job well done

She has done quite well with sheep over the years. I forgot to mention she put together the Grand Champion Beef educational poster as well at Grant. Both of my kiddos do a good job. My son, tried hogs this year to change away from lambs. He was in the top half in market, as well as fit & show. No call backs, but feel he did well for changing species for this fair.

Congrats to your kid, C-Money. Figured it was about time for your annual post. Our fair starts Thursday. Evergreen Youth Livestock Show is Thursday night and the sale is Saturday night. We've got 20 market rabbit kids participating this year. 7 of my own club kids. and then a couple here and there from other clubs.

Awesome. Good on you for supporting your kids.

Congrats to your kids C-Money! Almost always, the success of kids are attributed to very good parenting. My grandkids in WY started showing their pigs this year.
