If you ever picked up one of the non-thumbhole stocks on the knight bighorn, you would’ve noticed that the forearm is awkwardly short. It normally didn’t bug me except when I tried to carry it for days on end with a sling. It sat up about 2’ over my head and would fall backwards (often) due to the sling attachment point.
I thought about getting a whole new gun or trying to get an old thumbhole stock which was a little longer. Eventually I just decided to pick one up from Boyd’s.
I need to work a little on it, but it seems to fit pretty well and looks great. Feels much nicer now to sling and to hold. I suspect I have a touch of shaving to do inside (or I could bed it) to really get it as firm as I’d like. Overall I’m happy. $200 without checkering, $260 with it.

Looks great !! How’s the weight difference? Does it balance it out now ?

No chit on the balance or lack thereof with a sling.
Looks great. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
