i recently put out a trail cam for the first time to try to get some deer and elk pics. i put out apples and deer chow. i got a few deer pics, but mostly birds. after about 2 weeks, all i got were bear pics. the funny thing is that i hunt that area a lot for deer and have never seen any bears or any bear sign. i also scout it about 3-5 times a week from may til sept. and haven't seen any bears. just wondering if it's just the lack of food out for them now, or are there more bears than before. :dunno: :dunno:

Probably just timing. Due to the late spring and where they are at with their food source, you are liable to bump into them at different places and time this year. I haven't noted any population swings.
