To me, this is my favorite Washington trophy. An old mossback. I see nice bucks every year, but these hold a special place to me and make me the most excited when i am blessed or fortunate enough to find one. Here is an old Methow buck that fit that description. i discovered him while out hunting with Idabooner. Lighting was horrible, and even though I spent over an hour following him, my photos just weren't optimal. I did get to watch him breed, so his genetics are still out there. If i ever do that book of bucks, this one would surely be included.

Love those gnarly bases. The character on these older bucks is what does it for me personally. Great shot!

Tall, dark basket like antlers, symmetry bordering on non-typical, thick mass in the points....wonderful buck.

Love it bone. Those bucks with the sway back and barrel chest are special for sure. My great grandma and me seen a couple like him one year(mid 60,s) in that place I told you of a few years ago. They were by themselves with no does in sight, the rut was in kickoff mode. I remember grandma saying “poor ole fellas, we’ll let ‘em walk today, they don’t even have any girlfriends”😆. One was a knarly non typical with a big ole white face and the other was a pretty good 4by5. Both wayyyyy past their prime. I remember reminiscing with grandma when she was in her 90,s about those two old bucks. I asked her why she never shot one of them, she said “I felt sorry for those two old gentleman”😆😢. Miss her every day, especially this time of year. Thanks for the pictures bone, some do jog a memory or two👍
