Had a nice, but chilly, ride yesterday with the wife. Packed in enough drinking water for me to stay the entire muley season, ended up right at 11 miles round trip. My first ever pack trip with zero wrecks or crashes or rodeos! (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20231002/dbd14c8a88f6b40cb6dbda07c56739b3.jpg)

Was this your first trip or just your first trip without a wreck? It kind of sounds like you always have a wreck when you go out?

Looks like a perfect autumn ride. GL this season.

First pack trip without a rodeo. There was quite the learning curve a few years ago of me taking my horses right out of the team roping arena and assuming they could pack haha.
This year I did a lot more pack training just around my place and it really paid off.

Awesome, I miss those days.

Looks like a fun one. I used to have a great horse that loved trail riding.

There are not many things better than being in the high country on the back of o good horse. (or mule)
