Well after a VERY quite Archery season, I was curious if muzzy guys are hearing any elk talk even though it is getting later in the year??
-
I am not, although in the past we’ve had them bugling and challenging up till October 9th. One year I heard bugling in November, not sure what that was about (it was an elk, not a Hunter)
-
They are still bugling and herded up from where I have been hunting. Got a trail cam picture today with a nice bull and 5-6 of his cows.
-
Only hunters on bugle tubes. :chuckle:
-
Buddy was in bugles yesterday. Also had a 4x come in silent. Today it was a ghost town.
-
Lots of bugling this weekend for me. Was on a herd yesterday of 30 cows and 4 bulls. Full on scream contest between the bulls.
-
Yes, bugles, mounting cows, chasing off other bulls, rut action is on on the west end.
-
Pressure shut then down a little today, but other then that they’ve been screaming
-
Atleast you guys have been getting some action!
-
Haven't heard anything all season.

They have been screaming their butts off.

We were out last weekend and they were bugling and fighting like it was the peak of the rut. This was on the east side.
-
We had them bugling for our 5 day hunt. They were not as callable as they are in September. Still grouped up and the bulls would just move their herd of cows if you cow or bull called. The cows were also talking like mad but again not very callable. Buddy got his cow tag filled so it all worked out and was a super fun hunt.

Similar for us, I chased a bull around for 4 hours on Sunday who would bugle and move off. Every day, quiet by 10am.

I've heard bugles everyday that i've been out. Haven't been out since Sunday though.
-
A few still sounding of as recently as yesterday in Peaches Ridge
-
I.....heard......nothing......all......week......at least in my neck of the woods.

On the OP, the wife was walking the dog at the cabin mid day last Friday and said she heard a bugle. I told her it was probably a hunter. Driving back from glassing that night there was a herd in the neighborhood. I think it was a bull. 😉
Today we were on a herd of about forty. No multi-branched bulls but five spikes. We watched a spike bugle. It was like a five year old kid, with a cape on after watching star wars for the first time.
