Hello everyone, you can now sign up for public comment at the Olympia meeting on the 27th and 28th. This is the one we are all going to. This is the meeting where things could change, we could make such an impact that will affect what comes next. This is the opening weekend of Eastside elk, they think we'll all be out hunting. I would like to thank everyone who has helped with the petition. Whether you've signed it or helped gather signatures, we couldn't do it without you. So thank you. We will be presenting this petition on October 27th. After the meeting on the 27th, we will be hosting a pint night at Dick's brewing company in Centralia. Come hang out with your fellow hunters as we discuss what happens next and what we'll be doing. When signing up, here is what you can speak on. Hope to see you down in Olympia! Show up in hunter orange or your favorite brand, be respectful. Even if you don't want to speak, your presence will still mean a ton.
Friday open public input. 2.
Fish passage screening and rulemaking. 5
Black Bear Cr-102 timber damage.6 This on Friday.
The wolf petition will not have public comment but be voted on Saturday.

Thanks, Dane. See you there!
-
Hopefully people will be showing up for this.

:yeah:

It was pretty disappointing at the commission meeting this morning. Only 4 or 5 people there in support of hunting, trapping, and fishing. A lot of people on here saying they will be there and not showing up. I hope tomorrow and Saturday will have a better turnout. I will be there again tomorrow.

That is disappointing to hear

There were about 25 people total in the room including commissioners and WDFW staff presenting to them. I agree, the room should have been filled with hunters and it is disappointing that it wasn’t. I think it’s important to point out that comparing those who turned out in support to those opposing hunting is pointless because you can’t divide by zero.

I think you misunderstood. I was simply pointing out how there is a lot of talk on here about people need to attend these meetings and not a lot of people following through with what they say. I'm not at all referring to how many people oppose hunting showing up vs people for hunting attending. Just me being disappointed by fellow outdoorsmen again.

People were mostly encouraged to attend on Friday.

Thanks for the link

Great comments being made... Thank you to everyone who is there in person.
-
Standing room only!
-
Good to hear!
-
What's the makeup of the crowd? Mostly pro-hunting side I hope?
-
Sitting in a room full of hunters with great thoughts and ideas . I opted not to share my rage filled written out letter and shared the family values and love hunting brings our family . Everyone is doing a great job in getting a positive message across
-
With this commission the end of October is the most anxious time of year… what are they going to screw up next.
-
Listened to as much of the public testimony as possible while at work. Seemed like a significant majority of pro-hunting speakers.
-
Whoever just spoke last and pointed out the atrocious comments from our commissioners about sportsmen hiring their own biologists for the spring bear debate, well done sir. 👏🏻 I have pointed out the same thing several times via email and during public comment periods.
Some of these commissioners and their actions and words are shameful.
-
Definitely hunter dominated. Some great speaking points. And this county commissioner speaking now is great for hunters.
-
Much better turnout today
-
I did not attend this meeting, but I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to ALL who attended and spoke at this meeting today, God bless you! I did listen/watch it though, and still not sure how I feel about the meeting and the commissioners.
-
:yeah:
Totally agree
-
I also would like to say thank you to all who where able to and took the time to go to the meeting! You did a great job representing hunters as a group and I very much appreciate that! Thanks again!
-
Over flow and main room.
-
That’s me in the blue denim jacket. What time are folks meeting at Dicks brew? Still sitting through the salmon section of meeting.
-
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you

Glad to see some diversity there as well because I think the stereotype is all hunters are white males. It's good to see the women and minorities in the crowd (my Hispanic wife included :chuckle:) to show it's not only a white male sport, rather is a family tradition regardless of what the commission and anti's think. Thank you to all that were able to attend to help defend and protect our hunting heritage for the future.
-
Thank you all!
-
Thanks for those that attended

That was very encouraging seeing all my fellow hunters, trappers, and fishermen today. Thank you to those who spoke.
