Title: 2023 BC Moose
Post by: BlackRiverTaxidermy on October 15, 2023, 08:36:35 AM: Was invited on a moose hunt to BC by a friend. What a wild place! Wolves were especially bad this year which really locked up the bulls and kept them out of most open areas. Never much of a trophy hunter I was looking for a fun and new experience while seeing new country. Told myself I would be ecstatic with a bull with formed paddles and at least 30”, especially after seeing how tough conditions were. What I connected with was exactly that and I couldn’t be happier! Grizzly encounters, wolves, lots of black bears, great friends and lots of laughter made for one hell of a trip! These moose are MASSIVE!! I was more shocked on their mere size when I walked up on my bull than anything else. 474 pounds of just meat, which I will enjoy with my family for quite some time!
Thought I’d share- hope you all have a successful year and full freezers!

Had tags for a black bear but was more focused with making sure my friends got moose first. Never saw a wolf, but heard them a lot…sure we could have called them out but again…was focused on moose
