Title: The predator pit!!!
Post by: jrebel on October 22, 2023, 06:22:21 PM
It's amazing how many predators I get on my cameras in the NE Corner GMU's.  Almost laughable.

Posting quite a few pics....

Is that what they call a no game trail? The only things missing are a griz and a bigfoot.

Crazy🤯

You still seeing deer there?

Yes, but not near as many as there should be.

Washington, we have a problem!

I wish they cared!!  All they have to do is run trail cams in the NE and they would substantiate their biologist claims of to many bear...cougars and wolves.

It's thick country and not as easy as it sounds....We have had 8 hunters targeting bear this year and only managed to kill 4.  Without the ability to bait or use hounds, they get wise in a hurry to human sent and stay in the thick stuff.

All the moose have moved out of town....   We had a very nice bull who pretty much lived on the property and he has not been seen since spring.  Weird thing about that is the wolves moved in and made the place home about the same time he vanished.  I hope he just moved away from wolves and was not a victim.  I was waiting for him to hit his prime so I could invite a lucky hunter to harvest a true trophy.  Not now!!  :bash: :bash:

I think the predators have pushed a lot of animals down lower towards hwy 25.  Kids saw both elk and moose down close to the lake where we've really never seen them before. We've got em down here, but I don't think as many as you have up higher.  Pick up bear and cougars on the cameras around the house, but no wolves yet.( heck of a lot of skunks on the cameras this year)

I'll trade you....I want the moose back and you can have the wolves.  I'll send them your way..... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

No thanks. Suspect the wolves will work down our way soon enough.  Kids did see two different big bull moose near the summit of Addy/Cedonia road during the muzzy hunt so they haven't all moved down. We've got our share of cats. Not a big deal seeing them anymore. They seem to know when you don't have a gun ready though.

Once again thanks for posting.

This reminded me to update this thread with more pics.  There is no shortage of predators....   I just don't understand how WDFW can continue to lie with the irrefutable evidence that cameras provide.   :bash: :bash:

If you listened to the Randy N. Pod cast with past game commission member Kim T. you would know the current Game Commission doesn’t care how many predators there are.

They were told 100% elk caves in Blues  killed by cats. And they don’t care.

It’s time to give up all the common sense ideas, because they could care less. Until concerns over Game Commission ignoring staff advice become a political hot potato nothing will change.

The Game Commission should be brought up at every political event in the State. Anyone running for any office needs to hear and be questioned on what they will do to correct the off the rails ,bigoted Game Commission.

Until they become afraid that the Commission might cost them votes nothing will happen.

:yeah: totally agree, it has to be made public that is what the state is going to get more and more of, cats, wolves, and grizzlies, unless politicians are willing to support all users through a fair and balanced commission.

Couldn't agree more.....but until someone takes this seriously, this is where I can cash all my predator photos.   Keeping in mind, I am being selective and trying not to post duplicates in the same time period.  Maybe one of these days a politition will start reading these post and make note of the amount of predators??

Just pulled another trail cam today....this is what it had.....bet you can't guess, LOLOLOLOLOL

I have a little different opinion as to what should be emphasized. We should not be telling everyone in the non-hunting public about more and more cats, wolves and grizzlies. We should be emphasizing the reduced numbers of ungulates. That may seem like a small point but who among these wildlife watchers we hear so much about doesn't like to see a herd of elk, a moose, a mountain goat, Bighorn Sheep or even a couple deer especially if one of them is sporting a nice set of antlers.
Make the case the Commission is not managing wildlife in WA for abundance.

It does,……..but if the whole idea of coddling predators is to do exactly that(reduce ungulate numbers then it may fall on def ears. Imo, this is just a small piece to a big puzzle and it all revolves around guns. It’s not going to happen tomarrow or even a decade from now but it will be a talking point soon, why do you need this gun now, why do you need that one and so on. Pretty soon it will be like Biden said to a bunch of voters “you don’t need anything more than a shotgun”. If they can dwindle what we hunt, if they can turn public sentiment to push an agenda, they will and they will take their time. Most anti hunters are also anti gun, not all but most. They will give up the chance of seeing a deer or elk or moose to get those nasty people packing those evil guns out of their places they like to walk, picnic and explore. It’s getting to the point that there is no room for us(hunters), no middle ground for some. They don’t want us there. They have the backing of big donors and they have a WDFW that has been politicized.

I do like what ghost and Hump have said but it’s going to be an uphill climb. ghost, I’m leaning your direction.

And I agree it very well may be a back door anti gun movement and if it isn’t it could become that.

But we got to start fighting back some where. Votes is all they care about and we should be making the current Game Commission a liability to anyone running for office who supports them.

And for those bow hunters thinking they will get a pass. Just keep posting photos of animals walking around with arrows sticking out of them. Everyone who consumes fish or wildlife is on their hit list.
