Saw a picture from a gal I work with that claim the buck was taken in the Methow area. Claims to be 35" spread, which is what the picture looked like. Mass for days and just a monster of a buck. Green Jeep.....
Anyone know of such buck and anyone want to share pictures.
-
A buddy showed me pictures taken by his friend who was camped next to the guy. I think the shooter was a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend. Absolute tank. I heard 36" spread. 35 or 36, I believe it.
It was in the Methow.
-
The one picture I saw, was darn impressive. Congrats to the hunter if they are on here reading this. A true monarch of a buck!!!
-
Is this it? Was on FB, said to be Wa this year. A buddy sent it to me. I don't know the hunter.
-
That's the one.
-
Yep that’s it - have a few pics of it and it’s a tank and yes that’s where it came from
-
That thing is a TANK and has very similar genetics to another big methow buck that was killed a few years back if I remember correctly. I think that one a member had a trail cam pic of too.
-
I have a photo of it on the hood of the green Jeep but will wait to see if the shooter is on here and cares if it's posted. Hunting partners and I were in the same area when it was taken. Heavy horned stud.
-
The green jeep picture is the one I saw circulating. Beautiful buck.

I heard a giant came out of the 290, 200"er. Was that your dad by chance? I have not seen any pics.
-

Congrats to the Hunter….
Amazing..
-
Not my pic or story to tell, but the pic of him in blue jeans with his grandson next to him is epic! Surprised to see a deer this big before the migration
-
Congratulations to the hunter, stud for sure. Next year there will be tons of people looking for one around every tree.🤣

:yeah:
I have “bumped” a few Methow bucks that size. :o
Beautiful buck, congratulations to the hunter!

Once again, congratulations to the hunter. I just got a call from a guy my son played ball with down in Oklahoma wanting to know if it was one of our bunch! Oklahoma!!!! Man, loose lips ring a bell?🤣 I feel sorry for anybody that hunts within a 10 mile radius of where this buck was killed, start making reservations or put up your dummy camps as soon as the snow melts. Oklahoma!!!!!!!!

No worries, that place will be a ghost town next year. Everyone I talk to say this was the last monarch to exist in the methow. People will move on to greener pastures as there are clearly no more deer in that valley.
;) ;)
-
I was told a bigger deer was killed opening day
One ridge over

Once again, loose lips. There are some who ask questions, there are some who ask “specific” questions.

My sons buddy is in Enid!🤣 he heard about this buck!😆😆😆 . He thought it was our bunch because an old fella killed it.

I haven’t seen any OnX maps posted yet. Don’t get me wrong…..I hate the internet as it pertains to most things and especially believe it is what has given antis traction to destroy our hunting……but every year someone gets a great buck and pics get posted!! I have yet to see a mass migration to those grounds by other hunters hoping to find its brother.
Am I that naive to think most people aren’t going to change their hunting camp because this pic got posted??
-
I was wondering how long it would take for this buck to pop up on here. Actually took a lot longer than I figured. Hell of a buck!

No. Most people won’t move their camps to the methow next year as a result of this buck.
There are quality animals killed in Washington every year that get posted all over social media. The pics that get posted here pale in comparison to the pics posted on Facebook and Instagram anymore. I don’t believe those photos cause any kind of camp migration. Maybe they’ll cause increases in special permit applications but not general season changes.

Unfortunately, no not yet, he's spent a week there each month. I'm heading back with him the 1-17th so hopefully something turns up. Will keep an eye out for photos.
He'd be happy with one on this post for sure. We got to see it at the guy's camp and was pretty amazing.

It is a small world when you think about it.
Another stud buck taken out of the Methow.
There have been many, yet with current situations, it makes them fewer and fewer.
A trophy of a lifetime.
-
That buck is bananas... Happy to see that still exists over there.
-
Did you mean he eats banana's? Congrats to the hunter

Great buck.
I would have had a trash bag on its head and run it out after dark, packed up my bags and headed home.
-
You guys with your secrecy act like nobody else knows there's some big mule deer running around in the methow. Bad news but pretty much everyone familiar with the state knows that already.
Congrats to the hunter, thats a fantastic deer!
-
Congrats to the hunter! What an amazing deer man. He looks pretty damn elated lol.
-
Great buck.
-
That's one of the things I love about this site. You get to find out stuff that you would never have known about 30 years ago. Awesome buck
-
Crazy buck!!! Anyone here know Victor Moss back in the day? He owned the Outdoorsman in Winthrop before he succumbed to cancer. Neat guy. I got to see his trophies from a lifetime in the Methow and dang he had some huge animals. Some similar to that.

Vic harvested some nice animals in his lifetime, some shady hunts yes, but amazing animals…
-
Ole Vic, had forgotten all about him :dunno: old age taking over :chuckle:
Nice buck for sure!! Hopefully he has passed on some gene's!!
-
That's not a buck... that's a horse with antlers! What a deer!
Gary

The original pic I saw had the body attached and Horse is an understatement. What a BRUTE of a body that deer had.
-
They got it out whole, a lucky morning road hunt? Any one know the story?
-
I grew up pumping gas at the family Shell station. Every once in awhile Idabooner would let me slip off and go hunt. :chuckle: Every year some amazing animals came through. The potential is there obviously. Generally it seemed like the biggest went to some random bloke road hunting and often times their first time hunting. I always said I’d rather be lucky than good. I have no idea what the case is here, but what a nice buck. Those are the kind of bucks that make you go back I even if the odds aren’t good. Congratulations to the Hunter. Some late tag holder “got robbed” lol
-
Some good genetics up there. Definitely some similarities to my dads 2015 beast.
-
It was probably a descendent of that big buck track you followed when you had your late permit Bone. :chuckle:
-
Out of this world buck! Congrats to the hunter!
-

Holy hell! :yike:

That's one of those bucks that pretty much checks all the boxes. Amazing mass, check. Super wide, check. Dark colored horns, check. All around gorgeous huge buck, check check! Congrats to the individual who got to notch their tag with that one.
-

My brother heard the story from the hunter, not our story to share. Getting it out whole wasn’t an issue.

Down hill to the truck, my favorite buck!

I've never heard of the shady hunts. Back in the good old days? I wouldn't know. No judgments here or there. Either way, very large bucks that were very worthy, just as this colossus is!
-

Nice buck for sure!! Hopefully he has passed on some gene's!!
Glad to hear that you remember Vic. I think there was a post here, or on one of the other posts about this buck, and how it may have had similar genetics to another buck posted two years ago or so. It was another five if I recollect correctly. Cheers!

And dont forget Freds guide service

What a slob, has to be some sort of a record

If that's who I think it is, he's a fine man who lives life right, and a competent outdoorsman. Very happy for him.

That is a dandy buck! Congrats to the hunter!

And dont forget Freds guide service
The coke truck
Vick and Sig. somehow that should be a book

:yeah: Ole Fred was another colorful valley character! :chuckle: Oh to have the good ole days back!
-
You guys aren't by chance talking about Fred Miller are you?
-
:yeah:
-
Not surprised haha.
Fred was a family friend, and a character indeed. We met him when he was working the gravel pit in Conway, he stayed at my dad's place a couple of those years when I was away at college.
After Fred passed away my dad and I purchased his place on Wrong Road off his family. We are keeping the camp going but I think it's a little tamer these days. We also hang fewer deer.
The mounts in that place now are much less impressive...
-
What a tank, congrats to the hunter.
