Title: Cougar Open Areas
Post by: jstone on November 20, 2023, 08:13:17 PM: Heading out to scout for a late archery tag area Thursday morning. Are all areas open for cougar hunting?

Post by: builtfordtough on November 20, 2023, 08:34:35 PM: I just got on wdfw and looked at the GMU's. Says every unit is still open, except 485 need a special deer or elk permit. Id call them and ask for your specific unit and surrounding units.

I believe yes. No quotas till January.
General season September -jan 1.
January 1st late cougar season starts.with quotas and possible some GMU closed.

I'd love to do my part but I've never actually seen 1. Been stalked in the snow by a few and screamed at in the night but thats about it

Yep👍 I’m starting to get into this. Maybe one day we will have cougars hanging on our game poles like we used to have bucks.👍
