wish I could have found his sheds or even better walking on all 4s but this would have been an absolute stud of a blacktail. wonder what he would have scored. 5x4 with eyeguards

Awesome find!!!! Did you find it in the SW part of the state? Looks like it could possibly be a Columbian Whitetail buck.

Glad you left it there for the chipmunks to much on.

Cool find

It could potentially be Columbian whitetail but it was a long way from the Columbia river. North east Westside of Sw wa :chuckle:
-
But the eye guards and the way the forks split seem more blacktail to me ?

Is the skull broke? They look way too narrow, no way you left that in the woods, but good to say you didn’t! Game warden wouldn’t care about something that old
-
The skull was completely rotted out both sides were about 20 yards apart one had more skull attached but when I picked it up out of the moss it crumbled
-
Nice

What do you mean the game warden wouldn’t care? He obviously shot that 4 years ago and has now returned to retrieve his trophy. :bash: :bash: Dumbest rule WDFW has on the books :twocents: I can’t imagine how any animals survive in Idaho without this pointless rule to save them.

There must be a ton of black tails that die of old age.
