Unfortunately my hunting partner of 10 years is not doing so well. Not only is he great family dog, but he also had close to 800 water retrieves over the years as we have done well on waterfowl. So now I am looking for a new lab pup that I can train myself, this is something I enjoyed doing with my last dog. I am indifferent on yellow vs brown vs black lab. I am looking for a well mannered calm dog who is good with kids, and also has a strong drive in the field. I primarily hunt waterfowl, and will occasionally upland hunt. I would prefer the dog to be around 80 lbs. Does anyone have any suggestions for breeders? I am not very familiar with breeders in the Eastern Washington area. Any help would be appreciated.

Ireland Farms...I will drop the mic there. The only place I will look when that time comes. Everything you asked for in your post and so much more. Feel free to contact me through Dm and we can talk about the experience. My brown girl is 9 and the best dog EVER.

I would checkout @rainshadow1 he's a site sponsor.

My current litter is all spoken for, but we should have two more this year. You can look at the rainshadowlabradors.com to see how I do the whelping process. I’m trying to establish the idea of Starting puppies by 10 weeks.

Thank you for the input. I have some phone calls to make.

Ask about what health testing they do as breeders then post it back here and I'll give you a 100% completely biased opinion on the breeding. Post sire and dam and their pedigrees.

I see a senior hunter title on one which is good. Looks like they have the hips, elbows, cnm, and eyes done. All good meet the parents and make sure they're well socialized and happy dogs.

Health clearances are non-negotiable. After that it comes down to how much you want to pay which should be based on pedigree. IMHO most breeders are commanding premiums for their pups that are not reflective of the pedigree. That said, I can't blame them if people are paying it!

Rattlin Ridge may have a litter planned soon. I hear its possibly from a really nice looking yellow male who's qualified for 3 field trial nationals with a nice lady I may or may not know running him and gained his titles (FC and AFC) with that same lady at the helm. He also has all his health clearances like he should. But, this all could be speculative rumors at this point. Who knows right? Lol 😆

I think you're right on the $$$. That breeding caught my eye as well... https://www.huntinglabpedigree.com/puppy.asp?id=57788

Ireland farms. I could post another thousand pictures of her and him together since she was born a year ago. Couldn’t have designed a better dog.
