Holy smokes, I have been living under a rock! It's been several years since I owned a boat. Man oh man the electronics on boats sure have come a LONG ways since I had one. SI, DI, 360, maps, GPS, 2D. WOW! And the trolling motors, Spot Lock!!! Mind blown!! :yike:
So any Humminbird experts on here? I have a Helix 9 Chirp MSI GPS G4N, being installed on the console. I'm getting a Helix 9 Chirp MDI for the bow and hooking up the Mega 360 on the bow. Anyone know which cable(s) I need to network the whole boat, from the bow to the console?
I'm also having the Minn Kota Ulterra 80lbs/60"/24V/MDI/Wireless Remote installed and a 3 Bank Minn Kota Precision On-Board Battery Charger.
The graphs are out of this world detailed and clear. Amazing!

Depending on the type of fishing you do, spot lock is an absolute game changer. Hovering over a school of perch in 60 feet of water is amazing. I plan to put a Riptide on my big boat for bottom fishing in the salt.

I have a minn Kota Terrova on our 2 boats. LOVE them, especially after having a regular Minn Kota power drive for too many years. For lake fishing the spot lock is pretty awesome for staying in a hot bass/perch spot or if you’re too busy trying to do something else like have lunch or tying on a new lure. It works great on slow moving rivers like the pend oreille or Columbia. The auto pilot is also a savior, you don’t have to keep correcting the boats direction every 20 seconds. The Terrova was one of the best boat investments next to our Garmin livescope. I believe Hummingbird version is called Mega live which looks like you’re getting. You’re going to have a blast with all that.

I'm not going to get the Mega Live, I'm opting for the Mega 360. Yea, things are LIGHT years ahead of what I've ever had on a boat before. Can't wait! Pick up the boat on the 13th. :)

Good electronics, spot lock and auto pilot sure makes life on a boat a little easier. There’s was some fishing/ camping friends that I was constantly (probably irritatingly) trying to talk them into a Terrova or Ulterra, I even said it would save their marriage, it keeps nagging and bickering down :chuckle: .

+1. I only have one boat, but the features noted above are awesome. Just got mine set up last year.

For sure no expert. I’m a bird lover. Have two units 7” & 8” SI mega G3N. With the ulterra si di mega imaging: motor 80 pound 60” one boat network. Wired myself lots of trial an error. This is the yr I go into full learn mode. I just did a bird update. So everything went back to default mode. Will have to adjust accordingly again, but the screens and the detail are out standing. Your gonna love it.
