I'm putting air rides in my Raider Sportsman.  I've seen some pedestal style and the traditional compression styles.  Lastly, my seats are currently fixed to storage box.  Anyone mount to a storage box vs direct to the floor?

I put shockwave S2 in my boats.  The mariner suspension seats are better then nothing but leave a lot to be desired in my opinion.  I use my boat in the ocean primarily.

Not a fan of mariner seats, they have sketchy pinch points and sharp corners that were are not rounded off when lazer cut out.

Just got rid of the Mariners in our boat and went with shoxs.  They are very nice and very pricy, but worth it.

Looked at the Shockwave (and rode in a boat with them as well) they were nice too, but decided to get the shoxs with more travel and zero pinch points.

So the shockwave system you like, but not the seat?

I use there suspension base.  I haven't sat in the commander seat to know if it's comfortable or not.  I prefer a high back reclining seat with adjustable arm rests.  I just installed the xl captains seat from haxtons canvas in the boat.  So far it's extremely comfortable sitting on the trailer.

I also have the Shockwave S5 pedestals on my Alumaweld Intruder. The original boat seats are mounted on these bases. They are very comfortable but a couple things to keep in mind:

They are expensive, I think roughly $1k for each pedestal.

You will need to buy their adapter or fabricate your own to attach the seat to the base. (this is what I did).

I had them mounted on 12” seat boxes and they sat way too high. Recently
purchased their 6” riser and it’s perfect.

They have great customer service and will speak with you on any questions. I think they have a new version called the Sentinel; not sure what the difference is. I have the Smooth Moves seats on my other boat. Shockwaves are worth it in my experience. Hope this helps.
