I couldn't agree more with what was said. More and more people are considering moving elsewhere because of the leadership of Washingon and their policies. I intend to get involved in the support of candidates who wan't something better for this state because I'm getting too old to move to another state.

Moving only is going to delay the fight, it will eventually find you where ever you try to go.

Two options:

 Dave Reichert - https://www.reichertforgovernor.com/

 Semi Byrd - https://www.birdforgovernor.com/

Semi has worked like a dog. Hunted every opportunity to get in front of a group that would hear him. Especially hunters.

Reichart supposedly has more name recognition but has not gone and  spoke to non traditional Republican groups like Semi has.

Semi Bird is a great candidate. If you are anywhere near Cowlitz county, watch the Cowlitz County Republicans website, I am pretty sure he will be there a few times before the primary election.

Governor would be a great start.  Semi would be my first choice but Dave has more west side experience and is polling very will.  I wish Semi would make a push for Lt. Governor.  We are a long ways down a negative road.  Think past the governors office and elect folks that can turn this ship around.  One governor cycle will not get it done.  The changes that are underway can help us or push us to a very dark place.  Government everything has proved time and time again to be the dark side.  A thriving productive economy is a path that can prove what our advancements can really do.  Washington has environments and potentials that no other state has, what are the possibilities?  Sad as it is, politics are important.  Spread the word.

We start a ginormous GoFundMe. I'll put in $100 every month myself. Then if we can get millions more conservatives to pitch in as well, we create a new man made continent out in the ocean somewhere. Once it is big enough, we simply give it to all the libs to live out their dream utopian life, and keep contributing $. The only condition is that once they leave, they can't come back. All flights are one way only. Then, we can live sane lives with responsible laws and societies.

Semi started much earlier stumping for the job. He has been approached to run for something else. He has stated that it's the corrupt wa state republican party undermining him. This is an unfortunate viewpoint of his.  This I an exple of how conservatives have a psychological weakness of being too independent and not realizing this is a team sport.  In his defense the WA R party has made some piss poor choices in the past so it belive its easy to second guess them. Sadly this state has a poor track record of electing governors from the east side.

How do you save something that doesn't want to be saved? As long as the West side has the voting #s and hunters have the sorry representation and #s that they have, the anti's win. They've been winning for a long time and they're going to keep on winning with the political environment that exists in the Pacific Northwest. It'll take years for the state's population to get tired of the Wolves, Cougars, Grizzly Bears and such killing livestock, pets and attacking the few unlucky bike riders, hikers and some old lady livin on the outskirts, feeding her chickens.
Washington's hunting heritage was lost back in 1996 on the day the anti's got the law about hunting bear and cougar with bait and hounds on the ballot. They knew they had the #s needed to pass the law and they've been winning ever since. They win every time a "hunter" treats someone rudely online, that doesn't see things as they do. They win every time a hunter shoots an animal on video, then jumps up and down, high fiven everyone in sight, acting as if they've just won the super bowl and then posts it. Hunters can't help themselves, especially now days where they have to make sure everyone can see what they've done on social media. I get it, I've been hunting for years. Exciting stuff! The difference is, I also know how detrimental videoing it all and spreading it around the internet is to our pastime. And seriously, is killing a deer at 300 yards with a 300 such and such a magnum really all that difficult that everyone on the internet needs to see and hear about it? C'mon, how about ya show the animal a little respect and just get busy taking care of it. Venison can actually taste really good if you get the hide off as soon as possible instead of first worrying about getting hooked up to YouTube.
There's two groups that should matter to hunters; the hunters themselves and non-hunters, the anti's are already hypocrites and therefore not worthy of putting any effort or time into changing their minds. The Non-hunters on the other hand, are the group that hunters should be coveting. Making sure that they hear about every Wolf that kills livestock and pets. How about, instead of posting pictures of a hunters kill, post pictures of a Wolf killed deer with their belly torn out and the rest of the animal left for the scavengers. Make sure that every voter that voted to ban hound hunting and baiting gets to see the ramifications of their vote. Make sure when they see a dead deer on social media, it's a deer killed by a Wolf, Cougar or better yet, a fawn killed by a bear. Those are the pictures that the voting public need to be inundated with. Anti's and non-hunters should have to see what they've unleashed on the landscape. Hunters should be out taking photos and videos of the carnage that's been strewn across the state. Anti's don't want hunters to do what they do but they're totally fine with having wolves act as they act. Every time a rancher finds their livestock attacked and killed by predators, post it and plaster the photos on billboards all over Seattle.
Hunters themselves have to accept that some don't see things as they do and be okay with that. Hunters have to accept that the group they're pitted against are smart, funded and driven to take their right to hunt away. Hunters have to accept that their every move is under scrutiny. That they're being watched when out and about and online. Hunters should institute programs like, Take a Non-hunter hunting and invite a non-hunter to venison dinner. Anything that can turn a few non-hunters for hunters instead of against.
I don't know what it will take for Eastern Oregon and Washington to succeed in seceding, but if the affected people can accept losing the tax dollars the Westside generates and contributes to the rest of the state for their infrastructure and such, I think it's the only way hunting survives in the Pacific Northwest. It's sad that as a collective, hunters don't have the where with all to represent themselves in a manner that will draw non-hunters to their plight, but without the majority of non-hunters on the hunters side or at least neutral on the matter, we as hunters lose and therefore, ya might as well start the secession.
My only request would be, any Western Washington resident that has a history of purchasing Washington state hunting licenses, gets grandfathered in for free hunting licenses for a minimum of twenty years before they're forced to purchase an out of state license. That twenty years should get me through the rest of my hunting career. Good luck out there!

It’s sad, but they really don’t, I have a few democrats that frequent my house through my wife’s activities at a senior center. They think everything is just fine. When you try to convince them we are on the wrong path, they try to shut you down in some way.

Oh your source is wrong, or that’s not true they say.

If they are not hunters or antis they don’t have a clue what’s happening. I think they vote the way they do just to be on the winning side. Common sense will never convince them.

Very well said. We are our own worst enemies. When I watch a hunting show and hear guys screaming " kill em, kill em, kill em" or some big ol bull about ready to tip over and some guy saying " hit him again, hit him again" you just know how well that goes over with people. I watched a few Eastmans hunting shows on Prime last night and the only description for the program was "violence." We do need to be smarter about our ways.

Hunting is really peripheral to the politics in the State. We think that is a driver because we are so tied to hunting that we are thinking of it all the time. In actuality I doubt there are very few who make a choice on their ballot because of some perception about hunting.
I think the demographic split in the State has more to do with how people vote. Working class are swinging more Republican as the populist takeover of the Republican party progresses. College educated suburban voters are going to continue to vote Democratic. Older voters that while gradually becoming more Conservative will continue to follow their previous voting patterns. Young working class voters are where the opportunity lies. Traditionally that was a Democratic base but Republicans should focus their policies on this group. It is trending more Republican then ever. Focus on lifestyle and job opportunity issues and Register and get out these votes.

True to a point. Not sure what you consider the working class, assuming.you are thinking the blue collar trades.  That class of job is unfortunately shrinking and the influx of newer young arrivals on the west side are predominately tech oriented workers. Hunting issues are, for the most part, nowhere to be seen on  their voting priorities. Many are outdoor enthusiasts, but don't include shooting sports.  Appealing to them is the challenge.

I would not have said this in the past but I think you can legitimately say a lot of the tech oriented workers could be called working class. Working class doesn't have to mean blue collar. It could mean non-management workers.

I think that is probably fair to say, but I think most of these non management tech workers don't consider themselves part of the working.class.  I have numerous children, grand children  and nieces and nephews I think who fall into this category.  Right or wrong, I think.a lot.of it has to do.with level of education.  Virtually all of these lower level tech jobs require some level of advanced schooling, with most requiring at least 2 or more years of college level work.  In their thinking, again right or wrong, this raises them above working class level.  Hard for me to figure them out at times. I won't call them sissys or snowflakes, because many I know participate in sports activities that far more physically challenging than most hunters can do.Their voting issues seem to vary,  but most are  not single issue voters. (Some of the gals are more so.than the guys)  They don't give me guff for being.a hunter, but it doesn't appeal to most of my young relatives. I do have a few stalwarts though.

It's clear you don't know "non management tech workers" very well.  The software development workers are the first to be off shored, out sourced, and replaced by AI.  The work they do is repetitive, boring and sometimes soul crushing.  Tech workers spend more time working per day than most any other profession out there.

What I think you see when you see these 'types' voting democrat is that they have come to realize that there are smart people from any background, race, color or creed.  They have learned that they are better together than apart. They know that immigrants make us smarter, many of them come from other places.  They value education and don't usually ask for privileges just for working on hard problems.

Unfortunately this generation of GOP is anti immigrant and very discriminatory.  It's hard to identify with them when you know from your every day existence that those biases are anti productive.

I think  you're misinterpreting me. These nonmanagement tech workers are, for the most part, very hard workers. Many put in 60+ hour work weeks simply because many of the bottom line driven corporations have figured out they can drive these workers to the work it used to take 2 or even 3 to do. They live in fear that new technology might eliminate their position, or might be moved off shore or even to some state where wages are still tied to $7.25 federal guidelines.  I like being around them-we have way more in common than not.  Mostly they detest the new form or politics where junior high name calling and getting even with your foes takes preceident over our country moving forward. I've got 6 grown children, 13 grandchildren and 40+ nieces and nephews. Family get togethers are always spirited but never ugly. Hard to think of an occupation that at least one of them isn't in and not many places in the world where one of them hasn't been. I'm both jealous and sympathetic to the new generations.  Not sure I'd want to try it all over again.

Personally I think that is the narrative and propaganda from the leftist media. The GOP wants to follow the law. That means they support LEGAL immigration into our country. Illegal immigration has been a huge problem and burden on our welfare programs and undercuts blue collar wages.

I may be misinterpreting your experience, I was mostly responding to the idea that tech workers don't think of themselves as working class (and so vote democrat.)

I agree I wouldn't want to start again today, I feel blessed to have stumbled into technology just as it was blowing up.  I may be one of the few technology workers who didn't have a college degree when I started.  Kinda like a fatter and stupider Bill Gates in that regard :)  Today I wouldn't even get an interview.
I still stand by my guess as to why so many tech workers vote democrat

The polling I have seen showed that a slightly higher number of young people were identifying as Republican leaning rather than Democrat. That is a change from the past and it seems to be coming from the working class. The kind of person that is a little worried about their job or a little dissatisfied or maybe not getting paid a lot. People vote with their pocketbooks. If Republicans do things to make their future look brighter you'll get their vote.

Statistically only approximately 20% of gen x, gen z and milennials register republican.  Around 34% register democrat and the remainder claim independent.  In the last two elections the under 30 vote has been overwhelmingly democrat.

I think this state this year is going to come out hard against anything with an R next too it.  Dave R should run as an Independent.  He has the name recognition on the west side that this could be possible.

Well said. I’m beyond tired of the fist pumping of an “entire crew” of guys and gals after killing an animal. It is exciting. Something to be proud of. But…. Each video is more fuel for the anti’s fight and another nail in the coffin.
