Title: Minimum post count needed to view classifieds

Post by: Rainier10 on March 09, 2024, 04:10:22 PM: The issue we are having is people are joining the forum. Looking at want to buy WTB classifieds, sending pms to the member wanting to buy and asking the email or call someone that has what they are looking for.

It’s always the same type of message obviously computer generated.

The new members that are doing it don’t have any posts. Probably because it is just a BOT.

Hopefully this cuts down on this type of thing.

Post by: Rainier10 on March 09, 2024, 04:50:49 PM: Members that only buy or sell stuff in classifieds will need to make some posts on the main forum that stay.

When you post an ad in the classifieds it counts as a post but when that item gets sold and the ad gets deleted that post disappears off of your post count.

The deleted posts are in recycle but don’t count towards your post count.

Initially this will be a pain for those that just buy and sell but once everyone knows the deal it should help keep BOTS out.

Face to face cash only... unless I can get a 3rd member verification... that said I was was dry shaved by a shyster once.

You just have to have more than 3 total posts on the forum. You should be good to go.

My guess is there are a few like you. I also think there a bunch of guests who view the classifieds, see something they want and then join the forum so they can reply or pm about making a purchase. Unfortunately we may lose some new members because of that but cutting down on members getting scammed is worth it IMO.

For now it takes three posts on the main forum to post an ad in the classifieds also. Until you have three posts you can’t see or post in the classified section.

Buyer/seller feedback is a valuable function.
It's super easy to leave feedback.
