Title: 10 day waiting period questions
Post by: jdb on March 13, 2024, 05:46:27 PM
Does the day of your purchase count? Also do weekends count? If I purchased a firearm on 3/7/24 before noon when can I have it? Never thought to ask the gun store and they’re closed at the moment. That’s for your help!

Weekends do not count nor do holidays. It's 10 working days.

 :yeah:

Pretty sure the day of purchase does count, but not 100% positive.  I’m sure a FFL will chime in with the definitive answer.

If they submitted your paperwork on the 7th and if it gets approved, your first available day should be March 22. Day our purchase does not count and neither does the day the dealer initiated the background check, Saturday and Sunday don't count. Day 1 is the first business day after they submit the info to WSP. 10 business at a minimum have to have elapsed for a transfer can take place.
