Tried on several brands and settled with Kennetrek, was the only pair that instantly felt comfy.....hope I made a good choise....still cant believe I spent $500 on boots. :bash:

I can't believe I hunted for so long with cheap boots now that I have Kennetreks. I did have issues with heal rubbing as soon as I stepped off of the trail with my Kennetreks. But that was easily fixed with wearing some "second skin" or blister tape on my heal for the first 4 or 5 times I wore them. Now its fine.
Me too. Once I made the switch to expensive boots I’ve never considered buying a cheap boot since. I’d almost rather hunt barefoot than in cheap boots. In he long run they’re cheaper than cheap boots because they last so much longer. Not to mention the benefit over time to your feet, ankles, knees & hips.

The insoles are just as important as the boot. Randy Newberg has a whole segment on how important orthotics are to him. Switching from a lightweight boot like an Irish setter to a sturdy boot like a kennetrek or crispi is the best thing you can do for your feet if you're serious about hunting.
This is my next question, insoles. Are the insoles that are in them decent, or is it better to put something else in them?
I have superfeet in ALL of my footwear (suffer from plantar fascis)

Sheep feet custom insoles have been good to me. They send you a piece of foam that you step in to make and imprint of your foot then you send it back and in a couple of weeks you have custom insoles. Not are what they cost, I paid for them with my HSA.this 100%

Do you guys get the regular all purpose green superfeet insoles? Or the hiking ones? I tried the lathrop and sons insoles and hated them.
