I will start this thread again to compile my trail cam pics here. Some bear pics in ID to start with before switching gears for deer and elk in June. I have 2 cams in Idaho in the mountains from 23 that I’ll hopefully add to this in late June and another up on the mountain in WA I hope to check this weekend to add to this.
-
First customer of the year. Cam date is off because there was no cell service.
-
First bear of the year on my trail cam. I was a little surprised to see this big guy (or girl maybe). Slowly lumbering along carelessly. Love seeing big bears like this, hope it sticks around till August. Can't put out doughnuts to keep em around :P
-
Tagging. I always enjoy your photos and appreciate the time you take to post them
Healthy looking bear!
-
Those are great quality shots.

Completely agree. Every year when this thread comes up I get excited about it. Thanks HUNTNNW!!

Made it to a cam that’s been out since September elk. Cam was still taking pics and I stumbled upon a elk shed just before reaching cam.
-
I’ll just post as species. Also the date and time wasn’t set when I left cam.
-
This bull should be real nice this year
-
Another
-
Elk now. Few of the better pics. Most of the pics on this cam are elk.

This spot was more for deer than anything. Had a couple show up in September that I’ve never seen before . One looks to be very nice and the other looks real funky.
-
Funky one
-
The big one. I’d like to see him this year

Boo-Boo is saying "anybody in there". :tung:
-
Great pics as always, you never disappoint.
That Elk shed is pretty exciting.
-
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
-
Finally a new bear has shown up at bait. Been kinda slow this year
-
Some better bears showing up

.
-
These are awesome, thank you for sharing.
-
That last one looks like a pig!
-
It is a pig!!!
-
Fatty and it is only May!!! Thanks
-
I’m starting to wonder if this is the same bear I got on cam a few years ago about 4 mi away as a crow flies. These pics are in September and I can only imagine the shape that bear is in for May that it could easily look like this in September.

Thats a tanque, panzer - tank of a bear.
-
How late was that buck packing?
-
I'd say it's a pretty high possibility same bear.
Both jet black /no markings.
Buck is pretty decent too.
Great pics as always 👍.

They are actually color of brown as black in IR will be jet black .

I dunno .. cam date and time was not correct
-
Got 2 pretty good black ones in. 1 ran the other off. Would be extremely hard in the big timber in low light to decipher the 2.
-
Bigger one
-
Nice bears. Spring bear's out for me, saving a few bucks for all of my WA scouting trips.
-
Bear activity ramping up .. 2 nights ago none of the regulars showed up and all new bears came in
-
A real fatty
-
Wife was kicking herself for not sitting tonight.
-
And so begins the whitetail scouting. First one to keep an eye on for the year.
-
Dang, you're getting some really nice bears.
-
Buck looks like he gonna be wide
-
Another buck to keep tabs on and see how it develops
-
-
This so much fun too watch!
Thanks for the pics!

One day I’ll see him with a bow or gun.

BIG Bears
-
Made it to a cam that’s been out 6 weeks. 6k pics. Was kinda disappointing. Lotta deer, elk and moose. Just nothing very big.
-
Area I hunt has a promising buck. See 6 pts on each side already. Pretty sure I know this buck from last year as this buck has the same split g3 but has added more trash. He was no older than 3 last year.
-
Bachelor party for sure!!! Thanks
-
Nice buck. I'm making my 3rd 1,200+ total mile trip soon to check cams/batteries and put some 12v on a few. Hoping for something descent on camera.
-
1st target buck of the year I’ve found. Looks like a sticker on g2 is starting. Really hoping he sprouts G4’s. He could be really nice.
-
Looks like good one to I spy with your little eye.👍
Great pics as always, thanks for sharing.
Got a few dinks on my hit list, but nothing as nice as yours.
-
Congrats on the find, no mature guys on my cams but, I have a 2yr plan since travel and such is limited. I just made my 3rd trip up. Plenty of deer and bears though.

I spend a ton of time glassing this property and several trail cams over the years and never seen this buck. Well i remembered I pulled a cam about 2,000’ in elevation higher and 4 miles away this year after winter. I got 1 pic In September of a weird buck. Thinking this could be him
-
I’m envious of you east side guys. Growing up on the east coast, and living in idaho I was spoiled with whitetails. These trail cam photos I’m getting of blacktails just aren’t doing it for me.
-
Well after 2 failed attempts in last couple of weeks to get into cams due to snow I was able to check 1. 2 of the big bulls on cam last year are back and a new one.
First fox on cam there. And 1 single wolf pic. Kinda weird the first year I ran a cam here I had 1,000s of pics of wolves. Last 2 years 4 total pics
-
This cow was having herself a time in the mud
-
.
-
This 6 has great brows. Hoping to see him next year if his backend fills out. Could be very big
-
This is year 5 of this bull on cam
-
6x7 from last year. Seems to of added a little everywhere.
-
.
-
Those bulls are looking good! Great 3rds on a couple too
-
 Nice.
-
Couple of good looking bulls there!
-
Looks like a cactus buck
-
Tall brow buck has returned
-
He’ll be cool to see once he’s hard horned
-
Guessing that buck is bare minimum 6 and I’m leaning towards 7 this year. He’s been around several years . Might be his biggest rack this year
-
Nice buck. Is your big bull hunt-able OTC or do ya need a draw tag?
-

Those bulls are in a general area. Unfortunately I won’t be able to hunt them this year as I drew a controlled muzzy hunt
-
The funky one. Hopefully he makes it another couple years. Been the oddest year for bucks and getting them on cam in this particular area.
-
That's a cool buck! I always like the freaks the most :chuckle:
-
Finally found a buck that excites me. 8x6 now to watch and hope he moves outta the crp he’s calling home.
-
His buddy isn’t bad, but he might be real nice next year.
-
Wow! Dandy buck

NICE!!! I'm headed up in a week. Hopefully get eyes on something mature.

Made it back to Idaho to scout and saw a lot of nice animals. Hung a camera in a spot with lots of muleys 30 days ago and had super high expectations to see a ton of pics and was very disappointed. Glassed muleys all over the area .
Got 1 pic of a wolf puppy. Just noticed the wildgame innovations logo there’s a wolf head
-
Couple bulls
-
3 species 1 pic, cool pic to get
-
Found a muley with more points then I could actually count somewhere between 15-18 and almost all the points are not just little stickers they are full tines and big extras . Couple big inline tines. He was bedded 200 yards from cam and I thought for sure there was going to be lots of pics of him. I had 1

Other bucks in the area

Wolves over the last couple years in here have been kinda non existent. Use to get lots of pics. I got into a heated discussion with a lady at idfg over cougar predation in this unit as she claims the reason of the downfall of the elk is cougars . Well after 6 years probably 100k pics I’ve yet to get a cougar on camera in a highly used area by all wildlife . If this were WA I’d lost count on how many cat pics I would have
-

-
Cool pic. Do the deer frequent that water hole?
-
Been an odd year there for deer. By far the most deer pics I’ve gotten in last 6 years . Use to be a few muleys and a random whitetail . Lot more whitetails around the last couple years. Another cam 2 miles away had a couple decent 4x4 whitetails
Also I’ve yet to see a mule deer in person near that cam with all the scouting and hunting I’ve done there. Next cam check I’m expecting the mule deer pics to really drop off . Rarely get mule deer pics there come September
-
Nice. I found a pond with a lot of tracks, cam failed lol. If I happen to go in Sept, I'll sit there at least once and get a cam on it.
I did leave a 5# mineral block there.
-
Hopefully these guys stick around
-
Better angle
-
Great comparison of elk and WT size, the MD will certainly stick around but that might be 40 miles from your cam. Normal for them. The MD I watch show up for a day or two once, maybe twice a month. The WT nearly every day. Good luck!!!
-
Those muleys stay until about the last week of October snow or no snow they move. This is their high country and can’t get any higher.

Dandy moose. Thanks for sharing

Oh, he's a dandy!

Nice!

Glad ya seeing nice bucks. That bulls drop tine looks like something hanging from a trailer hitch lol...

How much bone is in that thing, please give us an update pic after he sheds, if you are so lucky!!!! Thanks

Seven all velvet last night, any day now, all look complete. Thanks, keep them coming!!

Looks like you're gonna have some fun

Was able to watch the big one pretty close last night. He’s with a buck I have 4 years of history with. That buck is at least 7 yrs old and you can tell is much older in the body and 40-50 lbs heavier. lm now on the fence on letting him walk if I see him this year. I’m almost positive he’s 4 and it explains why I have never seen this buck until this year. My guess is last year he was one of the handful of 3 yr olds that were just decent young bucks and this year made a big leap. Can’t kill 200” if you shoot 170’s . :chuckle: Be tough to let him walk, but think he gets bigger next year.
-
nice
-
Thought I made my last trip to Idaho to scout deer 3 weeks ago, but finding that non typ buck had me wanting to go back. Well I found him again 2 days in a row. Rubbed velvet off Friday am. He’s got a lot going on. I was able to watch him a lot. Best I could see was he’s a 7x8 including brows, left side has a tripod back fork, next tine is forked . Right side has a normal fork, an inline off the beam that matches the g3, plus a long hook extra that comes up next to fork and where that hook bends has another point going back . His frame is not big , I dunno if he’s old or not. Dunno if he gets bigger. I’m undecided.
-
Was able to glass up a big 3pt and check some cams.
-
That Muley is a dandy. I couldn't wait to see he will be next year

While scouting for deer in Idaho . I glassed up one of the biggest bears I may of ever seen or very close. I’ve seen a lot of bears hundreds maybe 1,000. This thing was enormous, it made a big muley buck look little.

Yep, that’s a big bear.

Toad!!

I’d probably still be there if I had shot it. 8.5 miles one way and 2,300’ in elevation. :chuckle:

seen a bear that size on the high hunt one year. My buddy said he wanted to shoot it. I told him I was here for deer and if he shot that bear he was on his own. :chuckle: Needless to say he didn’t shoot the bear. They get that big for a reason :chuckle:

I’ll ad some hunt photos on this thread.
Made it to Idaho for a quick trip as I only got 3 days to hunt there as we are headed to WY for elk. Night of the 2nd day I ended up making a 45 min run to a ridge to be in position to shoot before dark. Got there with a hour of light left and buck was still in same spot. There was a small 4pt and a doe also with him as they seem to be rutting as they would not leave doe alone. At 481 yards I squeezed off a shot and couldn’t find him immediately but did see the doe and 4pt looking at something behind a tree. I thought he was down, but he was and could see him moving. After a minute or 2 he walks out the other side and looked like he wasn’t hit. I shoot again and this time a face full of dirt from brake and lost sight and look around and spot him 100 yards down an extremely steep hill qtr at me and looking around . I’m wondering if my gun is messed up . I shoot again and hear an extremely loud “ crack” . Deer is gone but I see a pine tree shaking for 30 seconds and stop. I figured he rolled into it. Well after a big hike to just get to him it’s pitch black and I find him in a ravine that was unbelievable steep and thick. I realize what that “ crack “ was! Hit his beam and blew off a 8” extra tine that was on outside of his right beam. After a hour of trying to get buck out of hole so I could break him down with paracord everywhere :chuckle: I realize the first 2 shots were perfect . The goats and I made it back to our spike camp at 11:50 pm

The extra that’s missing

Awesome deer!! Sometimes those big mulies can take bullets and keep trucking, they are tuff animals. What caliber / bullet combo were you using?
-
Such a cool buck. Congratulations
-

300 prc 215 Bergers . Bullet that hit beam exited on bottom side and still hit buck . There was punctures all down back and shoulder. Plus the large majority of bullet hit the front side of hindquarter
-
Nice buck! Was trying to get my son on a good buck, 3 miles on the boots in there and we find a good 4x buck.. a 4 wheeler showed up at the absolute most horrible timing and moved him out, tried to find him again about an hour later and we Seen him leave the other does and follow one doe way into another drainage, he stuck right with her. Made me think she was smelling better than the rest of the does.
-
Awesome buck! Congrats!
