I got the invite and was there with another HuntWA member fishing yesterday and today.  Couldn't believe guys cant just fish and get along.  Sooner or later everyone is going to get their gear tangled up with another boat.  Just got to deal with it.

We should give them hockey sticks and helmets and charge admission.

Seriously not fishing I want any part of, and i love salmon fishing. But if this is what Salmon fishing in Washington is all about, I would rather buy it at Costco then deal with this crapshow!

I doubt they will be going ashore in that spot again.

Went yesterday and the bite was on in the morning. Had our limit by 8am. The fight was the talk of the town. Most were on good behavior and trying their best with amount of boats but there were a couple idiots.

You can get the same experience fishing the springer run on the snake. You and 500+ or your closest friends that you have never met. Just be careful if you reach into your pocket. Make sure it is your pocket.
Last time I was there I watched a person pull a knife on another because they had gotten the gear tangled up.

How's parking? Worry about getting broken into? Pretty safe?

Fight? Looked more like bums wrestling for a cigarette butt. Blue Creek and the Satsop had some real bruisers back in the day.

My buddies are in the team *censored* show boat - actually building a new boat for one of them. I would buy salmon at the grocery store before I dealt with that BS

Went today, for the first time. The boat went 5/8 with one being a jack. Wasn't too bad, and can't wait to try springer.

No punches or kicks going, nobody picked up a rock or a knife. This doesnt really look like a "fight", just some old fashioned wrasslin on the riverbank.

Nice weather for it too  :chuckle:

Actually, the guy in the headlock was trying to hit his "opponent" with a fish bonker.  They were able to pull that away from him.  That's what you see getting thrown into the lake in the video.  So then the guy picks up a rock and starts swinging it around in attempts to hit the guy holding him down.

You get this many tired stressed out men combat fishing while watching other out fish them and stuff will happen. Glad that’s not the only good spot to fish in the area lol. They can have it. Don’t come to fish the toilet bowl unless you have your system dialed all ready and know how to fish. It’s not for the first timer.

People get shot for less these days...sounds like the guy was lucky.  :twocents:

I stand corrected

Ouch...Some sloppy behavior there. I too, have personally witnessed more confrontational exchanges between folks in the last ten years than all my other years combined on the water. It is my opinion that as the sport fisheries become more popular and resources and opportunities become more scarce we will likely see more of this. Hopefully there were no youngsters there in the spectator boats for this 2024 drano debut. Stay safe out there guys....
