My daughter has a qualifying meet for Jr. Olympic Regionals in Kennewick for a couple days third weekend of June. I know I’m going to have time to kill.
Any recommendations for bank fishing in the tri cities? Catfish? Walleye? Really just looking for something to do besides walk around shopping with my girls when we are not at the track.
Thanks in advanced!

Cats should be biting around Bateman Island. Chicken livers or crawlers should do the trick. There are several cool parks along the Snake that offer great bank access if you want to chase smallies. Levey and Fishhook are a couple that aren't too far. Otherwise, most parks along the Columbia will have decent access to drop a line.

Below ice harbor dam on the Franklin county side for shad. Look for a large group of Asians, then you know you are in the right spot

Underneath the bridge over the Yakima river the horse between Richland and Kennewick is good cat fishing. Walleye from shore is nearly impossible, but Howard Amon Park is the only place I've had some and there's decent small mouth there. The outlet of the family fishing pond in Columbia Park is a little canal that is connected to the Columbia and it can hold all sorts of decent fish, but tough casting in the brush.
If anyone fishes these spots, I ask that you keep all the bass, walleye, catfish etc because they're not native.
