Boat has been in the garage for most of the last 2 years, and getting ready to sell to a buddy. Took it out for a shakedown cruise and got a high temp alarm. Pulled it apart last night and this is the impeller. I found a few pieces, but not all. What should be my level of concern with the remaining pieces?

My BIL changes his every 100 hrs or every spring, whichever comes first as a matter of maintenance. They are a know failure. :twocents:
Ya, this is the piece of maintenance I lagged on. Lesson learned the easy way, on a sunny calm summer day at the lake.

Blow the pee stream from the outside in and see if any pieces come out. If so, cool, if not, not a big deal. Blow everything you can see and get to, install new impeller and button up. Fire up and watch pee stream. It should be super strong. I look at mine every time I run the boat out of habit. Tell your buddy to get into the habit.:yeah:
Most likely the missing pieces have been chewed up and spit out.
And that impeller looks pretty good. You can probably re-install it and get another 20 years out it. Probably, but I wouldn’t risk it.
PS - You should check the T-stat if you haven't already.

Yeah, poor attempt at humor, and even worse communication skills.
But that impeller is probably still able to pump some water and may not be the only problem.
