I'll try to load as I check cams, that way it's not a picture dump.
I have cams that haven't been checked, cams that are soaking cause I just put them up . Everything in-between.
Bit off a little more than I can chew.
But have learned a lot along the way .
Still haven't found the grey grand daddy ghost, probably never will.
A lot of dinks and young bucks,at least I'm trying,I definitely know where the meat bucks are at.
I've had a lot of Camara failure due to SD cards full sooner than I expected. Kinda letting minerals dry up and see what pops up.
Only one new spot has really got me excited enough to put a camera next year.
Still a lot of work going forward.
Enjoy!
-
Lots of action. Thanks for sharing!

Wow!!! Thanks, goofy bears
-
The run down here is
All the pics posted are from 8 different camera locations, they are currently soaking, with sensitivity turned down so my memory cards don't fill up.
I still have 3 cams that haven't been checked since I put them out.
I have three cams that where placed recently.
Each camera spot has a quarter salt block, plus loose salt mix was placed when camera was put up.
I haven't been bringing any salt to check cameras.
Some spots salt will be gone by bear season, some may have a sliver of a salt block.
If I find a decent buck,I'll probably refresh that spot if needed.
Some of those 8 locations my cam stopped working before June, some cams have 32 gigabyte some 16,all the 16 are full.
I suspect I'll have a few more pics later this fall.
That's the run down.
All in attempt to find what I call the sleeper buck.
A dark horn beast that lives in the timber.
-
Cool pics. The one on 6/19 would be pushing his luck with me this year. I want a mature deer BUT, I've made 3 trips totaling 3,500 miles so far this year. I'll add 1100 more roughly mid-Aug and I haven't killed a whitetail since I left Bama after the 2009 season.

That buck....lol
That is a brand new spot for me, heavily hunted during modern firearm. It was another camera failure spot. Checked it, didn't take my picture at my arrival. I had a spare camera in my pack.
Didn't have any good pic on the first check, went back a week later to make sure camera was working. And got those pics.
Anyway a spot I've hunted a handful of times, never thought to put a cam up. It will come down before modern.
The smaller buck has double eye guards, few more years he'd be looking good.
-
Check the time stamps here.
This is a spot I pulled the camera,I was getting about a dozen people a year. Figured it was a matter of time before the camera got messed up. It was getting pretty bad.
I'll still hunt there from time to time. May put the cam back after it cools down for a year or two. Had that cam there for four years,I think word of mouth was out of the bag.
Had decent bucks pics at first, slowly degraded.
Last year had more people, then bucks. Left the salt block for the handful of doe using it. I'd guess the salt block is just about gone.
-
So ya did a check on a camera.im gonna use this location as an example. It's a new spot ,perfect to show how it doesn't always work out. I'd describe it as ....Dinks of the week.
Good variety of animals, just nothing nice. Will hold out the rest of the year. See if anything good shows, definitely not showing potential for a camera next year.

Last pics on this check/location.
Biggest buck on cam. I'll go back to cherry picking better pics.
But also wanted to show it's not all fairytales and big bucks.
Good variety,nothing impressive also.
I think this is a muley,who knows .
Pic from front and back.

Another check...check...double check.

The buck situation was pretty sad here.
Elk situation was a bit better.
Few babys here to wrap it up.
Can't tell if that bobcat has something in its mouth.

I'll stop here. Plenty of dinks and forks in the mix . I'll spare ya that.
Got more pics from other locations, just got to go through SD cards.

Thanks man ,I appreciate it. Kinda sucks checking cams in 100 degree heat. I don't have any cell cams ,I have to go to the tree.
I have a few other mule deer sets,of course they are new spots.
So I have no clue what's on them, they are still soaking at the moment.
I was supposed to go check another cam this morning.
Didn't wake up early enough, a cam that hasn't been checked at all.
Probably been soaking 2.5 months also a new spot.

You bet. That’s tough. I have one cell cam and I tell ya what, it was exciting at first but you are limited as far as where it is placed, like for example, I’d like it stuffed in a dark timber spot but no service, so it’s up high with the short growth and I don’t see as many bears as I’d like. That being said my next camera purchase will probably be a manual sd cam. I’m confident we hunt the same gmu. I was hiking Saturday and it was hot. Berries are kind of hit and miss. If you want to share more specifics, I’d be happy to over a dm. Have a great day.

These two jokers freaking no called/no showed on me .
At the last camera check.
But I do believe they are still around.
I had set the camera to a 30 second delay. Had a lot of blank photos. Where animals had walked out of view right at the moment it was taking a picture.
Anyway I reset the cam to 5 second delay.
I'll post up some dinks from the check.
Maybe they will pop up next check.
-
....
-
Few more dinks
-
Tons of dinks in this spot.
-
I'll leave it here.
Only predator on this cam all year. I also try to show each check as it is. Good or bad,is what it is.
Ton of fawns on this cam,and dinks to boot.
-
...
Making me drool over those moose oct 1st can’t come fast enough.
-
This is another new spot.
Well it stopped working in June, nothing on it looked great.
Just kinda bumping back to it's not all unicorns and rainbows.
Few decent spring bear pics is about it.
I did clear more branches and reset cam to one photo burst.
Currently soaking,I'll give it another month soak and pull cam most likely.
-
...
-
That's pretty it for this spot ,this little dink.
Some how a bunch of branches ended up in front of the camera.
20k photos of some branch ,oh ya!
It's reset and soaking,so will give it another chance.
A lot of doe and dinks, will see how it plays out.
-
Another new spot as well.
This one is definitely dink week, kinda discovery channel of dinks.
This is your typical heavy hunted public land spot.
A spot like this would just explode with big bucks ,if there was a 4pt min.
Like said above not all unicorns and rainbows when your trying to hammer out new spots .
Dink of the week.

Recap
Both bucks
Eye guards are different.
-
Always a small guy in there.
-
The 6x6 location has a smaller buck with double eye guards.
He is MIA for now. Hoping to catch a picture of him before I pull the camera. Also it's a new spot for me. So I need to scout it out a little better. Get the lay of the land, look for ambush spots to sit.
Think I got 2-3 more WT spots to check.
2 cams that have never been checked.
Then back around to all the spots HW has seen.
Always have some old cam spots to hunt, bucks I've seen on the hoof.

Bear picture of the year....😂
Bears don't eat salt ,they just crap on it. Or sit on it. Lol

Some great pics.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm in the process of pulling cams before archery/modern deer season. Also letting salt dry up,so that I can bear hunt some of these areas. Stay on the legal side .
A lot of bucks have went nocturnal on my cams.
Mostly because of the extreme heat I believe, but who knows.
So as the process of getting ready for fall, I should have more pics to come.
This mule deer is tall, not wide at all.
Sorry a bear nocked my camera sideways a bit.
-
Cougar pic I missed checking SD.
Another potential cougar spot.
-
....
-
Beautiful blondy bear.
These two spuds nocked my cam sideways a bit.
Not sure if they where just winged off there mother.
No pic of her.
-
Moose with no paddles,he got dinky elk antlers.
-
Sorry these are just pics I forgot to post on the last check.
Can't forget Elliot buck. :chuckle: :chuckle:

First off, I want to say sorry for posting so many pics.
I understand it may be annoying for some.
I promise pics will slow down, pics from the last two weeks those cameras are down.
I'm pretty sick of trail cams anyway, going forward into fall I want to hunt ,not be checking cams.
With that said....
I still have a handful of cams to get too.
I'll post up any decent pics from those and be done posting.
Also to add these are all public land animals , wishing everyone a successful happy hunting season.
Enjoy the pics!
-
Post all ya want, no one's forced to look and they're cool to look at. It'll be November before I get back up to check mine. Sux lol
-
Gotta zoom in on these.
-
....
-
This spot was one of the worst spots by far this year for bucks.
This spike is the only buck on this cam. Not to say a bigger one doesn't roam through for breeding.
Definitely not a core area for big bucks.

Velvet gone.

Overall a dink fest ,elk/deer.
Was a bigin last year,he disappeared last year.
Cameras coming down FAST.
Enjoy!
My trail cam season is almost over!
-
On a good note, ya got a couple shooters to get after. I won't know until early Nov if I have more than one shooter up there. Gonna skip early bow WT and elk hunt here on the Oregon coast starting Saturday then black tails in October. I'm more excited for my late season Washington WT hunts though
-
Pulled this camera the other day.
Just wanna say sorry ,they can't all be winning spots.
Thought this spot would be a killer mule deer spot.
Camera was at 4900-5000 elevation, not a single mule deer on it.
Camera was setup late June, let it soak till a few days ago.
Never checked it,set it and forget deal.
Anyway pretty disappointing.
But I'll post a few pics anyway.
-
Yup that's pretty much it for that location.
