Title: Any bull moose moved from Spokane north to Spokane west
Post by: mountainman on July 20, 2024, 03:20:40 PM
As the title states, with the WDFW fiasco, my tag was moved from Spokane north (permit drive in access) to Spokane west ( boot access). I know the north section, and had local helpers lined up. But no clue for the west part of 124. Heading over this Tuesday to start one of many scouting trips. Have a good Topo along with Onyx. Want to checkout the Corkscrew fire area(?) and maybe into 5 Sisters(?)
Strong legs and backs, but any local knowledge or better places to start would be appreciated.
And of course, will keep everyone at HuntWa updated👍

12 hours today scouting, found a few DNR areas, some landlocked timberlands, and a few contact names also. But gonna be a tough hunt do to so much private lands. Beautiful country! Time to ring Carrie (Biologist) again tomorrow for some more advise👍

A lot of walk in area there.
I remember when I was in my teens and early 20 .
You could drive right in from a few different access points.
I'm just guessing here ,maybe the North end closer to loon lake.
There might be an access point on that road that goes around the backside of lake.
But I don't really know,it might be private land locked.

It been awhile since I hunted there.

Sorry I took a quick look on onx. No access behind loon lake.
It looks to me like Hancock has sold some of there land on the north end.
