Title: No pics on the trail cam...but...
Post by: saylean on June 17, 2009, 07:02:48 PM
Went to check the trail cam today. It is not in the best spot, but I have faith. While walking the trail, I spot a fresh pile O bear poo...not 30 ft from the cam, so I am excited!

Check the cam....nothing (but one pick of something very close to the camera). :bash:

I broke down and bought some apples today, piled them infront of the cam and decided to check this box gully, not far from where the cam is.

Not more than 5 minutes after getting to the box gully I spot this bear eating new buds. Ya gotta love the outdoors. I watch him at about 150-200 yards for about 45 minutes before he finally winds me and bounds up the hill. He had a darker snout. His body seemed big to me, but his ears looked a little tall...I could be wrong. He had a knot on his head...looked like a goose egg, but was probably just some muscle. It was great to sit and watch him eat the brush.

I got to see him a few more times as he worked his way up the hill. We parted ways as he went up and disappeared into the oncoming fog.

Made my day.

I will post the videos once they are done on youtube uploading. Sorry for the crap pics...brush was thick, and my camera isnt the best at far distances.

I think they call them Pika's...they are a bit smaller than a rabbit and live in the rocks high up.
