May be I am overthinking it. Just got the accura. I've been hooking that pouch on everything trying to figure out what I like best

Scope is a work in progress.
Powder is a work in progress.
We did get the trigger pull lightened up as much as we could but it’s still pretty stiff IMO.

Wondering where or what folks with the newer CVA accura's do with their collapsible high-speed carbon fiber ram rods since it doesn't go underneath the barrel?

First year using it. Right now i have it attached to the waist belt of my pack. I'm always leery of just having a snap button connection point with anything as i've lost items this way. So i have the pouch snapped to my waist belt but also threw a zip tie onto the black pull string of the pouch and attached it to my waist belt too for extra certainty it wouldn't snap loose and fall off.

So, CVA and Muzzle loader.com. have been kinda ok.
Bought the ML from ML.COM.
It was missing the rear sling stud.
The first time I used the collapsible ram rod it broke.
Ist time I shot it, I couldn't get to shoot any higher than 4 inch low at 50 yd. ( shipped with wrong scope base, found out later)
I called ML.com they were nice but pointed me to CVA
They were nice, said they would replace the ram rod, told me some were shipped with the wrong scope base and that the would send that and the sling stud. This was last week mon/Tuesday. Thursday I called CVA and was told when shipping sends it out I would get notified. Friday they shipped the stuff... by truck..... got to track it all the way across country.
So, the stuff got here and the high speed carbon fiber and ALUMINUM ramrod now in six sections not four like the all carbon is broke. The first section aluminum part is sucked up into the second sections.
I fixed that with a little arrow glue. ON the original all carbon, the carbon didn't break it was the bungee cord stuff in the middle that broke. With all the free time I had waiting for the new stuff to come I tied a knot that bungee cord and fixed that. It's more of a pain in the ass than you would think.
So, another trip to the range.
Yes, l am bummed, but getting over it. Been using a buddy's Ultima for hunting. Heck. If I stuck with my Ole TC 54 I wouldn't have gone through this. People talk these accuras up, I will see.

For over 300 years the ram rod has been underneath the barrel where it belongs. That thing abouts better accuracy when nothing is touching the barrel is true 500 plus in modern centerfire, I don't think it makes that much difference in a muzzle loader at 100. 150 yards. It really does make you want to make sure that first shot counts, as always.
