Title: Blue MTN foothills west
Post by: elkchaser54 on November 04, 2024, 03:25:56 PM
Anyone else going to be running around chasing some whitetails?  I've got some spots on OnX , had a doe tag last year and had to watch a giant 10 pointer walk the trail right up to my doe laying on the ground. Old boy was so interested in women he didn't even care about the gun shot 5 minutes earlier .  Message me if you need a hunting buddy for a day and you're around . I'll be staying in Dayton with family and heading out every morning . Starting november 12th

I have the tag as well. I haven’t ever hunted the units but I have some good intel and at least know where deer should be in a couple spots. I plan to start on the 13th for the last 7 days of the season. Word has it they got a couple feet of snow up high this weekend. Pretty excited. Hoping to find a buck 130+ but not chasing inches as much as chasing a cool mature deer.

Good luck!  I had the tag last year and saw some really great bucks my first morning, then fog rolled in so thick I could barely see around the property I was hunting.  I ended up taking a much smaller than expected buck a day or two later because it didn’t seem like the fog would lift in my area for the next few days.

Saw a ton of nice bucks hanging around in fields right off Patit road on my drive out where it wasn’t foggy, but they were all on private that I didn’t have access to.

Here’s one I saw on my drive out.  They were everywhere in the middle of the day on the last few days of the season

I’ll be curious to see how many whitetail I actually see. I wonder driving the main roads in the creek bottoms for example how many there really are? Like deer in every field? Should be a real adventure.

Wowza thats a stud buck ! He looks like a midwest buck. Hope to see a bruiser like that.  Thanks for the inspiration.
