How did I miss this one?! That’s terrifying.  I know they pull dogs away from houses, but a kid?

"KIRO Newsradio spoke to WDFW Captain Jennifer Maurstad Thursday about the incident Tuesday evening and said that while the coyote ran off, an officer took one shot with a rifle and is “pretty certain that he hit the coyote.”"

That sounds safe in an urban environment....

I also love that their cover photo is a coyote from NM.

Problem is that the people in King County will blame the kid and his family for encroaching on the coyotes territory...  This state has a predator problem and not the just the pedo kind like commiefornia

:yeah: Obviously the coyote was a victim and member of an oppressed society. It had been unfairly prosecuted based on its species and genus. For WDFW to look for blood or hair would have been a gross miscarriage of justice for an individual that obviously grew up in a bad neighborhood, was exposed to dangerous drugs at a young age, did not have the advantage of being raised by both parents, and was simply trying to survive in an environment that we had altered in a manner that had negatively impacted this glorious songdogs's own sense of self worth and world values. It was simply being a coyote and was too young to fully understand the impact of its decision making.

I would not be surprised to see a Go Fund Me account set up by protesters with crappy homemade signs and megaphones. Agreed they will likely say it is the child's fault.

I have seen this attitude from an alarming number of people.

Isnt this what people are saying about the Methow valley - That all these westsiders are moving to the Methow valley, building homes, and encroaching on wintering mule deer habitat/territory and thats bad for the deer? Is this different because this happened in a big city or because its a coyote and not deer?

Until deer start trying to drag kids into the woods to eat them, yes I would say its completely different. Although I would agree that habitat loss is hurting our deer herds.
