Just ran across the photo of the feet of the deer my dad shot in the late 70's. Was taken in GMU #651, Satsop, Grays Harbor, Mason counties.
It was just a spike. My brother and I gave him a bad time about shooting an invalid. We said the deer didn't run because it had snagged it's toes in the blackberry vines. Other than the long toe nails I don't recall seeing any hoof rot. Was going to Taxidermy into some gun racks but my freezer went bad and they were thrown out.
