Too cool! Do you run cameras on your traps? Curious how much they would actually effect them. I always run a camera and have had many coyotes stare directly at the camera. Never had one even stick his nose in the trap yet.

Purely luck quite honestly. I have a couple narrow traps with conibear trigger doors rather than plates and side doors that coyotes can’t seem to stay out of. I do run cell cameras on my traps. Many coyotes stick their heads in cage traps then back out when the top closing door hits their back.

Wow coyotes in a cage. I cant even get them to come within 20 ft of cage. Give it up whats the secret. I play around making fake dirt hole sets(no trap) and can get them to step right where the pan would be. but they wont come near cage.

I use beaver for bait. All coyotes were caught in my bobcat sets accidently

Do you have any video of it you care to share?

I’ve never taken any video, but I can take some better pictures of the Trap. I caught one in the other night. It was up against an old stump at the base of a small Jack fir I used bark from a big fir to conceal the trap.

I have noticed with my IR night set up that some animals will react when I shine the IR flashlight in their direction. I can not see it at all, but they apparently can see at least some part of that spectrum.
Same with my trail cam with it’s IR. I can not hear anything coming from it even with electronic muffs turned up, but some critters react to the cam, so I presume it is the visual on the IR is why they are reacting.
