Back in 2012, it looks like Thurston County attempted to add new sections to county code 10.04 Discharge of Firearms, and there's a section in this draft that allows for "application for exemption from the prohibition on discharging firearms shall be considered for properties two acres or larger."
It was also brought up on this forum back in 2012: https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,93557.msg1218864.html#msg1218864
The 2012 draft says "The application shall be submitted in writing and filed with the Thurston County Resource Stewardship Department." The Stewardship Department was later renamed to "Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED)." Looking at the CPED website, I found their application and permit fee schedule, but it doesn't have anything about the no shoot zone exemption application.
So, does Thurston county actually allow for exemptions to their no shoot zones or was that exemption killed when the draft was killed in 2012?
