Going to one lane each direction 24/7 starting Monday. Made for some long delays last year if you didn't time it right.

Bumping this thread.
I was stuck in stop-and-go traffic 7.5 miles back for an hour and fifteen minutes a few weeks ago on a Friday afternoon trying to get across. Expect it to be rough this holiday weekend.
Wonder if diverting north to Wenatchee or south through Yakima/Desert Aire (depending on final destination) makes sense. Particularly, the latter for heading to the Pullman area.

Wenatchee is closed this weekend too, better try the other direction

Welcome to Memorial Day chit show

They've opened all lanes on the bridge for the holidays. Not a problem early this morning

Friendly word of advice:
If you've got kids, make the bathroom break in E-burg. Even if they "don't have to go" ....that extra hour on the hill down to Vantage can change the scenario quickly- and there are no options, not even the roadside emergency pee break.
Don't ask me how I know.....

Traffic was good in both directions when I went across at 3 this afternoon

Glad they opened all lanes for the holidays. Its a real pain to be stuck in long backups. It would flow better if drivers would just commit to the lane open, and eliminate all the drivers that speed past folks who have already merged, and force their way in at the last minute.

They need to teach the zipper merge in this country.

They really only need to teach it in this state. Maybe in California is my guess too, but I’ve not driven much there. I learned it just fine where I grew up.

Or just do the work at night.

Or just do the work at night.
They can’t open and close all four lanes within a single shift. They’re replacing the deck.
I just wish they’d work two shifts.

The west siders drive like they vote.!!
Not very well :chuckle:

Funny
I thought that about most all Washington drivers.
