Anyone have any luck in CF for yots? I want to get one good yot for a rug.
-
Ask BTKR, I've tried there, no luck. Seen em', cant get em to come to me.....
-
I sent him a message but he just got off. I figured I would check with others. I was up there calling for bear and did not see any yots.
-
I really don't try for coyotes up there, too many people, it's thick and there just aren't a whole lot of them. But I have called in a few yotes up there and I usually pass on them as I am calling for bears. I did call in a real red one with Bobcat a couple years ago that I wish I had shot it, but again we were looking for bears.
-
Do I just use my calls you seen that I had for bear?
-
Well I havn't been up into Capital Forest exploring yet. I live right at the foot of Capital Forest off Delphi. I hear Coyotes ALL THE TIME! But I hear them right around my house and in the fields around my house.
I will say Billythekidrock would know more about it them me. I just passing along what I have heard and experianced.
-
The rabbit distress one will work, if they dogs cooperate. You may want to pick up a call or two from Bearmanric. His open reed cow calls will do triple duty for elk, bear and coyotes.

Yea, but you live right next to a huge pasture, houses and the Black River. Much better yote area then up in the timber.
-
If I contact him will he know what one I need? I was looking at electric calls also. BTKR said you do good work so if I get something I will look you up sence you live about 15 minutes from me.

Tell him what you want to do ( bears and other predators) and he will hook you up. Regardless of who or what you get, if you are serious about calling I would look at getting a closed reed and an open reed.
As for electronic, FoxPro and Minaska offer the best, but they are spendy. Cheaper electronic calls work, but you may not be able to change sounds.
-
Ok will do. Thanks everyone.

He is talking about hunting the perimeter, near adjacent farmland where the bunnies and chickens roam. Dense timber or foaming mt bike trails isnt your best bet.
-
and cat's and dog's. it work's. Rick
-
They eat dogs and cats???!!! :chuckle:

There's a few up there, but they are human savvy! Seem to see them when I don't want to spook deer. Haven't called in many up there. The picture above was from the CF
-

-
Gotta go early... Most of the yahoos will still be in bed. Saturday we did not see anyone until almost noon. Got on a couple sets of bobcat tracks, but never saw the kitties.
-
Where I was told the big kitty was had to much snow for me to go up tho with that many people.
-

-
Would like to go out and do some good hunting.
-
we will hunt and i would like to try and take other's. little busy sold over 25 call's yesterday. very busy. i have everything you could imagine for calling all cat's. i like teaching showing how to call. Rick
-
Rick that sounds good. Teach me how they work and I have no problem buying. Heck I spent $7500.00 just for a good hunting quad. All I got this year was a small spike deer so that was one costly deer. LOL
-
just to let people know, all the roads that parreled or crossed waddle creek are washed out
-
Saturday we went from Waddle crk rd to the C line to the C4000 to the B line almost to the B 8000 and found a washout. We were so close to the Rock Candy entrance and the hiway, but we had to back track the whole way. Other than that things were fine on that route.
-
did you notice that the deer moved down??
since that big snow i dont think they've gone back up, went all round up high and couldnt find any tracks. i went out coon huntig the night on that big snow and saw some moving down so thats why i'm figuring they've moved down some. if thats the case im guna stick down low, the predators should follow the deer. guna head up again on sat, from what weather said were guna get some more snow
-
did you notice that the deer moved down??
We only saw two deer and the were down lower, near the B line. Found some bobcat crap by the B line as well.
-
i went on the c-line over to rock candy and ran into the washout too. pretty annoying...went all the way back to waddle creek side instead of porter bc i didnt want to risk another washout...how long does it take for those to get repaired?
-

It depends. Sometimes they are taken care of right away, Sometimes they can take months. This one being part of a mainline and so close to the highway should be cleared soon, if it is not too severe.
-
BTKR can I get to the spot we where talking about if I take it from rock candy side?
-
