got permission to hunt two different properties on the eastside probably with one or two days on public. will be hunting out of a blind on the private properties with my son. good luck to every one and be safe out there. will be in the chewelah area.hopefully with some luck one or both of us will get a thunderchicken. thinking of using a jake and a hen decoy on the private area. thinking of calling only sparingly. ive hunted turkeys 2 other seasons. with not much luck seen alot of birds in the past but they were on private. hit me up any other members in the area. will be over there until 4/23 unless we tag out by luck early.

I will be over with my youngest son to do a quick 3 day hunt with him. It is the only days he doesn't have High School baseball stuff and he leaves for college in the fall. We'll be up around Colville somewhere probably.

Don’t look past the public just because you have private land. My son in law and I have had permission to hunt a nice piece of private the past two seasons, heading there on Wednesday. But, we have yet to kill a turkey on the private, we each have ended up killing our birds on public land. Find some public, and do some calling, you never know.

The anticipation of a coming hunting road trip with my son is truly one of the greatest feelings. Have a great trip and enjoy every second of it

today 4/19 was our first day hunting we hunted private out of a blind. first thing in the morning had a big ol tom and 5 of his girls with him on the side of the road got out to geta peek and let out a gobble and took off running with his girl friends. got to our spot on private. landowner showed us around on he way back to park got out to head to the blind got busted by a hen cruising by. after lunch we returned for a evening hunt. things started to heat up. do a little calling they are digging the box call. get a hen to show up out of the blue. landowner has a dog it gets out of the kennel some how chases the hen away. later on 5 hens show up. do some yelping and putting. get a gobble from a tom on the other side of the lake. he kept gobbling on and off for about a hr. we called it quits around 7:30 as sunset was 7:50 end of hunting hr. was eventful day saw 4 whitetail and 1 cow elk. lots of critters out and about today! have a few more days still to hunt before we have to head home. hopefully with a little luck and persistence me and my son can punch a tag. had fun calling back and forth with the hens had one about 5 yards in front of our blund my son was shocked they would get that close! they where yelping and putting it was cool for him to see the sounds the hens and gobblers make. im sure he will remember his first turkey hunt forever.
