Feel free to elaborate or clarify below.

I hunt for sustenance. I'd much rather take a mid-life buck and enjoy the experience for the 6 months I eat him than a trophy that's hard to swallow. And, it's not like I'd pass on a bigger one were there the opportunity to do so.
-
:dunno: I don't carry a tape measure when I hunt. I wouldn't know how to measure a deer anyway.
-
Learned long ago you can't eat the horns. You going to guarantee a nice buck every year for the next decade? I'm taking that all day!
-
I'm not a trophy hunter, I just like to put some wild game on the table now and then. I truly think if a 200" plus buck was in my sites, I'd pass as I wouldn't have it mounted and couldn't honor the trophy like it should be. Let another hunter who has that dream put it on their wall.
-
My answer in my 20’s would be different than what it would have been in my 30’s and so-on. Now that I am 59 and hunt other states also, the four 180 inch bucks in 10 years is what would fit for me. :dunno:
-
I went with the 220...theres lots of ways to fill the freezer
-
I'm taking two, two hundos.
-
Anything 150 or bigger is a done deal .
I've always been a meat hunter,if it's a stinky old buck.
Street tacos and deer enchiladas for me.🤤
I didn't vote,150 or bigger is always the goal, but if it stands like stupid. It's in the freezer.
-
I’ll take a 220+ all day long. Never had a issue putting meat in the freezer
-
I voted for 6 in 10 years, that's about what my current success rate is but they are a long ways from 160".
-
6 - 160” buck in tens years would be an unbelievable feat to accomplish. And 1 elk feeds my family for a year so deer are just icing on the cake. If I weren’t an elk hunter I may think of it differently.
-
I am currently happy with deer that are old or 160” plus, but it’s definitely a progression. Currently the six 160” to 180” bucks in 10 years would make me happy. I’d rather focus on “filling the freezer” with elk and whitetail. There was definitely a time when any legal mule deer was the goal.
-
Should have shot this one, because the one I got last year was tougher than boiled shoot owl.🤯
Plus I wouldn’t have had to pack it out.🤣
-
220 is a buck of many many lifetimes. No brainer for me.
-
Did not vote, because there was no any legal Buck option.
I could care less about inches.

This. Not even a question what I'd choose.
-
Not greedy, 200” buck is one for a lifetime. Two is even better.
!

Under 150" is still a dandy blacktail. I'm picking 10 for 10 all day.
-
Don't want mess up my deer a year for 35 streak...
Besides....most guy's see a 150 on the wall and think it's a 180... :chuckle:
-
I voted for 10. Because there are only so many sunsets left, no reason to go empty handed. My ego doesn't have the horn fetish. But I started out my hunting career with three moose and two caribou before I ever got a deer. I would rather have a pile of meat opposed to no pile of meat.
-
Ive gone the last 5 years getting a deer every year. I like having the meat in the freezer and enjoy the entire process from field to table. If this was my only hunt of the year then i would still pick 10 <150 inchers. If i had more tags and this was just a for fun hunt and the freezer was gonna be filled up anyway then i would go with the 160-170+ and would pass on the smaller bucks.

I'm not following. Doesn't not caring about score result in choosing 10/10 bucks?
I also couldn't care less about score so I'll take the harvest every year please and thank you

What would this bruiser measure? I need more like this to hold all my hats.

I'm assuming the poll was 150" mule deer. If not, I'm changing my vote to 10/150" blacktails in ten years. That would make a legend. :chuckle:

That is a solid 11 pointer. Don't mean to brag, but I got a 22 pointer last year(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20250502/48e5091998e08aa3e16467a0a4ef7dda.jpg)

I go home empty handed more than not any way, and when I’m successful they are whatever I see that’s legal, so 4 180s is a big win that I would take!
-
I chose the 6 160-180 in ten years under the assumption this is based on md. If we’re talking whitetail, I’d take the same but really 10 over 150 would suffice as well.

I agree ....
MD VS WT
Mule deer I do want a 180+ buck.
WT .... I'll just fill the freezer.
-
I’ve killed plenty of bucks in my life, nothing approaching the 200” mark. I’d take the 220” deal and let the rest of the family take care of filling the freezer.
-
I'm truly a shoot it if I like it kind of guy. I grew up in the south and have probably killed 150 whitetails in my life BUT, we didn't have the caliber of bucks as WA/Id do. I saw 13 whitetail bucks on this past seasons hunt, I only considered one and never drew back. I grew up chasing whitetail and I need to nail a 150' before I go passing them up. I'm not worried about meat, I kill an elk and blacktail every year. With the no bait law being passed, I bet a lot of hunters lower their standards this year, especially archers.
