Title: A nice old Stevens 44 1/2 22 Hornet varmint rifle - 1940s - early 60s vintage
Post by: JDHasty on May 03, 2025, 08:53:07 PM
Built on a 22 Short DST match rifle by a gunsmith in Virginia name HJ Sites who had an outstanding regional reputation.

The scope is a real nice Tasco 706 12x.  The barrel has a heavy liner, probably a Diller or Parkerrifled.  That was common practice for the top varmint rifle smiths back in those days.  The stock is cast off and would be uncomfortable for a left handed shooter, but it fits me to a T.
