But total harvest only dropped by 4 deer, 81 to 77 when deer killed by all weapons was totaled up.

Thats my point. If they want to lower the amount of deer harvested to help the population they should either not allow rifle, or hunting by any weapon it appears.

All the reports I hear is these orchards and alfalfa growers will get their hands on 5 or 10 permits to take deer or elk and then in their eyes it’s open season day or night no limits. It’s state sanctioned poaching IMO

Maybe, but the ones I know all pay the $10. Either way the numbers are skewed.

I agree for sure . Skewed is correct.
Then in the next few years with CWD. Guys will skip testing by claiming it was shot in a different GMU.
I don't really see the numbers getting better as time goes on.
