Looks like I got the thumbs up from the wife for a 4 day trip this summer anywhere I want in AK for 4 days and want to take my 2 adult sons as well. Anyone have a good guide/ lodge they can recommend? We want to do both salt water and fresh water fishing. Looking to spend about 8k for the 3 of us for the 4 days not including flights. Thanks.

I just checked with a friend that owns a lodge here in Sitka, he said "I can probably help them out"
PM if you want info.

Kingfisher Charters Sitka. Captain Mike Sullivan

I'd go wtih a fellow member on here. Duncan and Sons. Its inland fishing, not charter boat. I'm a fly fisherman, not sure what you are after. I had a chance to go film with them, but I wasnt able to capitalize on it. Good people. I just re read your ask. I dont think they do salt

I'm going with Caulder Mtn Lodge out of Petersburg AK the end of August. Probably won't help you now, but have buddies that have gone multiple times with them and had really good times.

Screaming Reels in Craig is a good friend of mine.

Strawberry Lodge, but I don’t know if they do freshwater, but they’ve been around awhile so they might have a connection

After living in Alaska for 15 or so years, you will not find a better Silver Salmon fishery than Togiak River Lodge. Nice and remote, with great food, nice accommodations, great Wooldridge boats and experiences that can and will be a once in a lifetime adventure.. If you know to fish, you can catch 50 silvers a day, if you don't know how to fish, you can catch 50 silvers a day! I used to guide there for a few fall sessions and it is truly an amazing place. They do now offer some saltwater halibut fishing and tours to a Walrus Island.
Another good place with an awesome guy is Prince of Whales Island Sportfishing with Rob Endley in SE AK. Rob is an excellent host and captain.

Really depends on the experience you are looking for. Are you wanting the "Lodge on the Water" experience, or are you just wanting incredible fishing? I worked with tons of guides in AK doing advertising for them until about two years ago. I fell into it because I owned a hotel on the Kenai Peninsula. I can definitely connect you with guides that will give you the adventure of a lifetime if you're looking for that route. Personally, I would target halibut and ling out of Valdez and then go for kings out of Copper Center on the Klutina. The later you get to the closure of Aug. 10th on the king, the better usually. If you want any info on that, shoot me a message. I have guides that I'd 100% recommend that stand out and go way above and beyond others.
Price breakdown:
- Saltwater Charter ($500 a person) - $1500 a day for 3 x 2 days = $3000
- King fishing/class III rafting float ($400 a person) - $1200 a day for 3 x 1 days = $1200
Saves quite a bit for a rental car, hotels and doing whatever else. If you could expand your trip to 6-7 days you'd really enjoy it and actually get to see a little bit of Alaska.

Another reccomendation for Endsley.

Don’t forget to let us know how it goes.

Calder Mountain Lodge. Best option in my opinion. Look up their web page. Might be too late for this summer. Fishing is great. Great people too.

SE Alaska went to 1 king salmon annual limit for non residents this year. We moved our Sitka trip to later in the summer to target Coho. If Salmon is what you are after be mindful of that and don't go too early. Or go somewhere that doesn't have the 1 fish restriction.

Second for Calder Mountain, just got back. Great people and area.

Check out Fireweed lodge. I did alot of research this past winter and booked with them, headed up in three weeks. Can't wait. Although the 1 king limit was disappointing news I think we are going to still have an amazing trip.
