Saw that I was able to add tag to cart but didn’t draw multi season what is the difference on the normal multi season and the cwd multi season?
-
I’m not finding the CWD multi season option
-
From what I was told, you had to have a deer tested for CWD the previous year and be a resident to get one. With that said, I was told on Thursday that the CWD tags have been DISCONTINUED

Discontinued as not being issued.
Or discontinued as already gone, all given out.

The CWD multi season tag was an incentive tag to encourage people to get their region 1 deer tested before we had our first case in the state. I'd assume that it was discontinued after region 1 started mandating deer testing for CWD. If we didn't have CWD positive deer, that program probably would have continued. To be eligible you had to submit for testing and were then put into a raffle of 100 tags

I think I understand now.
Only people who tested in 2023,went into a random drawing for the 100 CWD multi season tags. In which they could hunt the free multi season tags anywhere in the state 2024.
Then 2024 testing was only required in one GMU ,but since we tested positive . Now it's mandatory for region 1 ,it has been discontinued.
Does that sound correct?

I think so. The only thing I can't remember clearly is if the 2024 testing was required for just 1 GMU (124) or if they were already mandating testing in adjacent units as well.
Technically they weren't free multiseason tags, they were free to the recipients. I believe Washington BHA (and maybe others) paid WDFW for those multiseason tags.

you are correct ,no way would they give out incentive permits for free. Somebody has to pony up.... 😂
I can't remember which units was mandatory last year,I know it wasn't that many ,one or two GMU .
Thanks for the info
I had my harvests tested last year. Thought maybe I was in a drawing or something. Definitely not ,since it's discontinued.
